MPD Reports: GWA girls softball field spray painted, 4-year-old found wandering outside unattended

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 14 – 21, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 E. x Aycock Ave. Subject driving w/suspended. Transported to the Monroe Police Department for fingerprinting, citation, and released on copy. Report made. 
  • Scam – S. Broad St. Complainant called 911 because she received an email from Apple asking for her debit card number and social security number.
  • Welfare Check – W. Spring St. Subject is homeless, and FISH put him up at the Havens Inn for the night.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Victory Dr. in reference to juveniles damaging property. Contact was made with juveniles and advised them to leave. Nothing further.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Inheritance Park. in reference to juveniles cutting through the trailer park after being told to stay away. All ok.
  • EMS Assist – E. Church St. and S. Hammond Dr. Subject was found intoxicated and stated he was having a bad reaction to methamphetamine. Refused all treatment or transport and was arrested for Loitering on City Citation.
  • Dispute – S. Madison Ave. in reference to a previous dispute. Male subject assaulted the female and was located at the home and arrested. Charged with Battery FV, Cruelty to Children 3rd, Obstructing a 911 call, Criminal Trespass Family Violence, Criminal Damage to property, False imprisonment, Aggravated Assault by Strangulation.
  • Mental person – Piedmont Walton. in reference to subject who has a signed mental evaluation order and was being aggressive. ER restrained the subject and all ok.
  • Noise Complaint – W. Creek Cir. in reference to subject being loud and waking everyone in the house. Subject was advised to be quiet.
  • Damage to Property – Bulldog Dr. (GWA): Met with the Dean of GWA. He stated that the girls’ softball field was spray painted. Report taken.
  • Warrant Attempt – Ridge Rd – Attempted to serve a warrant on a Donta Robertson. Donta fled on foot and shot at the officers. Criminal Investigation Division and Captain over Uniform Patrol were notified of the incident and they took over the scene. Donta Robertson not located at this time.
  • Threats – Gatewood Way -Complainant reported her sister is harassing her thru electronic means.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Clearview Dr. – In reference to subject driving around the neighborhood. He stated it a manual transmission and he’s learning how to drive it. All ok.
  • Dispute – E. Marable St. – In reference to Subject getting into an argument over food that is in the residence. Situation was mediated. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Davis St. and Bell St. in reference to complainant wanting her property from Davis St. The only property on location was her food stamp card. The card was retrieved and returned.
  • Juvenile Complainant – Oak St. in reference to complainant locating a 4-year-old juvenile wondering around outside for approximately 3 hours and not being able to make contact with the juvenile’s parent at Oaks St. Contact was made with the father after a welfare check was conducted inside the residence. The juvenile was turned over to the father and DFCS was notified.
  • Fire Assist – Davis St. Officer responded to an extinguished bathroom fire. Scene turned over to fire department.
  • Suspicious Person – MLK Blvd -Emory Rehab in reference to a male lying in front of the business. Contact was made with subject sleeping. He was advised to gather his belongings and move on.
