MPD Reports: Gym locker room vandalized; 15-year-old drives to the hospital; patient runs off, is located and returned

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 14 – 21, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Agency Assist/Suspicious Vehicle – US 78 at New Hope Church Rd. In reference to a blue Chevrolet Silverado unable to maintain lane, heading towards Monroe. Negative contact, the area was checked. 

Dispute – 806 N Broad St. Da Grand. In reference to an intoxicated male on location. Contact was made with the subject who was heavily intoxicated. The male subject left with family. All ok. 

Mental Patient – Overlook Crest. In reference to a 55-year-old female, not eating or drinking. The complainant believes the patient is having some type of mental breakdown. Subject was turned over to EMS. 

Dispute – US 78. Walton Truck Stop. In reference to a silver/black mustang and a maroon truck in the back of the parking lot. Contact made with subjects who advised they had a family misunderstanding earlier. All ok. 

Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. In reference to the complainant advising that her sister and girlfriend were fighting. Upon Officers arrival the subjects that were fighting were gone when officers arrived. 

Mental Patient – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. In reference to a subject who ran out of the hospital towards Home Depot. Subject was detained in the woods behind Walmart near US 78 and was transported back to Piedmont Walton without incident. All ok. 

Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. In reference to the complainant advising that someone would not let them leave and disconnected the line. Negative contact on location. 

Mental patient – Barron Dr. Actual address was later found to be a different address. Complainant reported her 13-year-old juvenile acting out due to mental health issues. Remedies advised. 

Traffic stop – HW78EB and Truck Stop. Gold van stopped for no tag. Driver arrested for DWLS and released on copy after fingerprinting. 

Disabled vehicle – HW78WB and Cherry Hill Rd. Vehicle out of gas, off roadway, all ok. 

Damage to property – West Spring St., Walton Athletic 24. Owner reports damage/vandalism in men’s locker room. Photos were taken. Video footage available after 01/18/2021. 

Other Law – West Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Ref to a report of a 15-year-old driving to the hospital with a learner’s permit. Driver cited for driving in violation of class permit and released to a licensed driver. 

Mental Patient – South Broad St., Southside MHP. Subject having a mental breakdown. Subject did not want to speak to officers or EMS. Subject was not hurting himself or others on location and was left on location. 

Dispute – East Church St., Chevron. Ref to the complainant advising her wallet was stolen from the Chevron. Officer reviewed the camera footage and advised the complainant that she left the store with possession of her wallet. The complainant did not request a report to be made. 

Suspicious person – Pine Park and Davis St. Officer recognized a subject walking and knew him to have a warrant for probation violation for agg assault. He was arrested for a Walton County Sheriff’s Office warrant and transported, all ok. 

Traffic stop – East Marable St. and Bryant Rd. Arrest made. Vehicle was removed by Taylor’s.
