MPD Reports: Heroin overdose, domestic stabbing and teen sex concerns

The City of Monroe Police reported the following incidents for the period May 21 – 28, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Mobley Cir. A subject from Athens, Ga wanted to advise that a male subject was wanting sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old granddaughter. Contact was made with the male subject and it was determined he was 15 years old. The 15-year-old juvenile was turned over to his grandmother. All ok 
  • Dispute – Applewood Dr. In reference to a female stating her baby daddy had slapped her in the face. The unknown female was gone upon officers’ arrival. After speaking to subject and a couple other people on scene it was ruled out that the female had made a false report. All was ok.
  • Property damage – Felker St. in reference to someone is throwing metal in the complainant yard. Complainant stated sockets and spark plugs were falling from the sky into his yard.
  • Improperly parked vehicle – Walmart in reference to vehicle parked in fire lane parking violation issued.
  • Found Property – W. Spring Street (Piedmont Walton) in reference to a cell phone. Complainant stated that a patient came in the ER with the phone and family members stated that wasn’t his. Report Taken.
  • Traffic Stop – Harris St. and Lacy St. in reference to a female stopped for driving on a license suspended and failing to stop at a stop sign. She was fingerprinted and released on copy.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. In reference to Complainant getting into argument with her boyfriend. Parties separated.
  • Traffic Stop – Hwy78 EB @ Edmondson Rd. In reference to speeding vehicle 90 mph in 55 mph, Possession of Marijuana less ounce and warrant out of Clayton County for Fraud.
  • Private Property, Hit and Run – W. Spring S.t – Grey Kia Forte struck by another car who left the scene.
  • Theft – Davis St. in reference to theft of medication. Complainant claimed that a subject that drives a white work van stole his Hydrocodone prescription while they were at 320 Harris St.
  • Suspicious vehicle – Quality Foods; In reference to a gold F150 laying drag in the parking lot. Vehicle was gone towards Walmart when officers arrived. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person – Bryant Rd. – Anonymous caller stated a black male subject was moving trashcans and walking in their yard. Contact made with subject; he is a mental health patient who stated he was the trash man moving the bins to the road. He was advised to go home.
  • Dispute – Masters way. Reference a report of reckless use of fireworks. Made contact with female resident of house. Female had heaving bruising to the upper arm and neck. Female denied any altercation with anyone on location. All parties on scene denied any fight.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St./Shamrock Dr -While en route to Tiger’s way, unit observed a dispute in the roadway. Situation mediated; parties separated.
  • Firearms – Stonecreek C.t -Anonymous caller stated firearms were being discharged in the area. Multiple residences in the area were shooting off fireworks, all okay.
  • Intoxicated Person – Murphys Gas Station -Employee called in reference to a male subject unconscious on the floor of the gas station. Contact made with the subject who was suffering from an overdose of heroin. EMS administered Narcan and transported Raines to Piedmont Walton, after receiving treatment he was arrested for possession of schedule 1.
  • EMS Assist – Cook Pl. In reference to a black male on location unconscious and unresponsive. Turned over to EMS on scene.
  • Dispute – Harris and Lacy St. Woman called and stated that a male was in the house of her friend who is currently in the hospital. Upon arrival, she stated that she saw someone walking around in the area, but not enter the residence. All ok
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Plaza Dr. In reference to pick up from previous traffic stop backed up to building and running. All ok.
  • Stabbing – Piedmont Walton: ER staff reported subject came into the ER seeking treatment for a stab wound to the arm. Subject told responding Officers he was stabbed by an unknown subject who approached him on Alcovy St asking for money. Victim described the subject as being a light skinned black male approximately 6’00” weighing 175 lbs wearing a gray hoodie. Victim stated the subject ran away after the stabbing.
  • Stabbing – Glenwood Dr. -While investigating the above call officers made contact with a person at this residence, further investigation revealed the stabbing occurred at this address and the victim’s statement was false. The incident stemmed from a dispute between the victim and his girlfriend. CID notified.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Clubside Dr. in reference to a white male subject later identified as Stephen Lesser stole a work van from the above location and collided into another vehicle when he was leaving the scene. He was placed under arrest by Walton County Sheriff Office
  • Thief Report – Alcovy St. In reference to St. Annas Catholic Church had a Pro-Life sign stolen from their grounds.
  • Suspicious persons -Ammons Bridge Rd and Masters Dr In reference to subjects waiting on a ride in front of subdivision. Both subjects were given a courtesy ride to McDonalds.
  • Terroristic Threats -S. Hammond Dr. at Court house in reference to complainant getting a Temporary Protection Order on subject and needing an incident report. Report Taken.
