MPD Reports: Hit and run involving a bicycle, bullet shot into upstairs window

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 12 – 18, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harassment – Mears Street in reference to meeting complainant who stated she was being harassed by subject on S. Madison Ave. I looked at the text messages and noticed their conversation. Complainant was advised the communication was not harassment. 
  • Suicide Threats – W. Vine St. in reference to subject making suicidal threats. Officers were unable to locate address. Dispatch advised of a possible address in the county. Walton County Sheriff’s Office was notified. Officers later located subject at Conestoga, and he advised he was ok.
  • EMS Assist – E. Fambrough St. in reference to a City of Monroe employee injuring his ankle while working. Supervisor escorted employee to local hospital.
  • Stolen Vehicle – Perry St. – Complainant advised a named subject stole his vehicle, while he was asleep. She and the vehicle were located in the area of Cook Place, while officers were searching the area. She was arrested for Driving without a valid license. Complainant declined charges and she was released on copy of citation.
  • Meet with Officer – Lacy St. in reference to complainant wanting to speak with an Officer about a Temporary Protection Order against his mother’s boyfriend. Complainant was advised of remedies. Report taken.
  • Theft Report – W. Spring St. – Marathon Gas Station. Report declined.
  • Dispute – Maple St. in reference to a dispute between two subjects. Parties were separated.
  • Damage to Property – S. Broad St. – Monroe Police Department Lobby. Complainant advised his vehicle was damaged at IHOP. Report taken
  • Dispute – Davis St. in reference to a dispute between two subjects. The situation was mediated.
  • Warrant Served – Alcovy St. in reference to Mathew Reed on location with an active probation warrant for his arrest. The subject was taken into custody without incident and released to the Walton County Detention Center.
  • Hit & Run – Knight St. Complainant advised a truck struck her son’s bicycle as he was riding on Stokes
  • Dispute – Harris St. in reference to Derrick Jones wanting Terrance Brewer off his property. Terrance Brewer was issued a criminal trespass warning and advised not to come back. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad St. – Rinse in reference to a named person. She was turned over to her grandfather.
  • Juvenile Issue – Sherwood Dr. in reference to juveniles riding motorcycles through complainants’ yard. Met with complainant who advised young teen riding dirt bike through yard. Contact made with child and parents at Sherwood Dr. They were advised to only be on approved property.
  • Damage to Property – Pine Park St. Complainant stated that a bullet was shot at her residence and entered through her upstairs window. The entry damage from the bullet was located. No bullet could be located.
  • Return Call – Sherwood Dr. in reference to dirt bikes. Caller stated after officer left a subject of Sherwood Dr. rode his motorcycle into complainants’ property and revved the engine to illicit a response. Subject was gone on arrival.
  • Meet with an officer – W. Spring St. Complainant advised that she put her debit card into the ATM to withdraw money. She advised that the ATM printed her out a receipt but did not give her any money.
  • Dispute – Unisia Dr. Refused to leave after termination. Subject terminated and refused to leave. Upon seeing Law Enforcement Officer, she left without issue. All ok.
  • Vehicle Collison w/ Deer – Meadow View Drive: Single vehicle. No injuries. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – In reference to Alex Young and Drelyn Maddox having a pound of bacon in bag from another store. Subjects issued criminal trespass warning for Quality Foods.
  • Suspicious Person – Harris St.: Subject sitting on the side of the road. Subject was advised to move his feet back. All ok.
  • EMS Assist – Baron Dr.: Complainant advising daughter is having a mental episode. Doesn’t want Law Enforcement. Cancelled.
  • EMS Assist – Baron Dr.: Complainant called to have her daughter transported by ambulance. While on scene, complainant said daughter could leave with her sister. Parties separated. Report taken.
  • Harassment – Magnolia Terr.: Complainant advised he was turning onto Hammond Dr. when a white Kia threw a beer bottle at his vehicle. After running the tag of the suspect vehicle, complainant was unable to ID the driver. Declined report.
