MPD Reports: Intoxicated man walking on the side of the road arrested for pedestrian under the influence

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 17 – 24, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Shoplifting – Pavilion PKWY in reference to a shoplifting incident that happened two days ago. The subject was identified and a warrant was issued.
• Vehicle Unlock – W. Spring St. – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Juvenile Problem – Nowell Street- In reference to two juveniles running away from their mother. Juveniles were located inside of the residence.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138/Hwy 78- In reference to a semi-truck failing to maintain lane, negative contact.
• Vehicle Unlock – Boys and Girls Club- Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Damage to property – Birch St. at Cherry Hill St. – In reference to damage to property of a motorcycle, I provided the complainant with an SR13 form.
• Entering Auto- N Midland Ave. – In reference to Complainant’s vehicle being entered at some time between 10/17 at 1930 hours and 10/18 at 1100 hours. A pair of Beats headphones and (2) credit cards were taken. Report taken.
• Vehicle Unlock – Tire Depot – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Vehicle Crash – S Midland Ave. – GEARS report completed.
• Accident – West Spring Street in reference to a single vehicle accident against a pole.
• Residential Alarm – Edwards St. – Alarm triggered by homeowner’s son. All okay.
• Suspicious Person – Tiger Way in reference to two white males walking around the residence. The neighbor spoke to the subjects and they wanted permission to hunt behind the residence.
• Fraud Report – 140 Blaine St – In reference to Complainant needing a report for fraud on his food stamp card. Report taken
• Harassment – 140 Blaine St – In reference to harassment, the complainant left the lobby prior to officer arrival.
• Mechanical Breakdown – McDaniel St. / S Wayne St. – In reference to a Chevy Malibu broken down in the roadway on McDaniel St. Vehicle was able to be pushed into the CVS parking lot. All okay.
• Theft – Martin Luther King Blvd- In reference to a subject stole the complainant’s medication.
• Roadway Obstruction – Hwy 78 / Unisia Dr. – In reference to wood in the roadway, negative contact.
• Found Property – Alcovy St.- In reference to multiple credit cards being located under an old door mat. Not related to entering autos.
• Alarm – S. Lumpkin St. – In reference to the alarm, both front and back doors were secure. Requested dispatch to notify the key holder.
• Accident – S Broad St; Walgreens – In reference to a two vehicle crash. No reports of injuries on scene. Report take.
• Unknown Law – GW Carver Dr – In reference to subject on location and under the influence of alcohol. Subject was turned over to his sister.
• 911 Hang Up – HWY 138 At Michael Etchison Rd – In reference to an Apple iPhone reporting crash detection. Dispatch made contact with the owner of the Apple iPhone who advised all was ok. Area checked, negative contact.
• Drunk Person – E Church St – In reference to a female on location, who appeared to be intoxicated. Contact was made, and she was advised to call for a ride. Officers remained on location until her ride picked her up. All ok.
• Dispute – Green St – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects. Female left the residence without incident.
• Juvenile Complaint – Old Mill Point – In reference to an anonymous complaint, that juveniles were on location lighting stuff on fire. Area check conducted, with negative contact of anything on fire, or juveniles attempting to start one.
• Dispute – E Spring St; Monroe – In reference to a male refusing to leave. Male was gone when officers arrived. All ok on location.
• Suspicious Person – S Broad St; VMT Doors – In reference to a named subject being observed walking on the shoulder in front of the business while being intoxicated. It was discovered that he possibly damaged the mailbox belonging to the business. He was arrested for pedestrian under the influence and transported to the Walton Co. Jail on citation. Report taken.
• Suspicious Person – S Madison Ave – In reference to the complainant advising he heard a female screaming. Area was checked with negative contact.
• Fight – 1480 Hwy 78; Stadium Lounge – In reference to a fight between two subjects. One left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. After investigation, a warrant was taken on the the one who left for simple battery. Report taken
• Juvenile Runaway – Birch St – In reference to subject walking away from home after an argument. He was located a couple houses down from his mother’s after being advised by his mother to go to his grandmother’s house. He was safely returned home.
• Theft Report – E Church St; – In reference to a theft of cell phone. Report taken.
• Alarm – W Spring St; Sake Express – Business checked on foot. All doors and windows appeared ok.
• Other law – W Spring St; Harry’s Marathon – In reference to the complainant advising that her friend had accidentally driven off with her food stamp card and was refusing to bring it back. Contact was made with the complainant over the phone, who advised she wanted to cancel the call for service. She advised that the card was not stolen and advised that her friend did eventually return her card. All ok.
• Prowler – Sorrells St at Cook. No address provided. Complaint of people walking around the outside of the residence. Area checked; all ok
• Suspicious Vehicle – Ridge Rd. In reference to a Honda Accord on location with its interior lights on. Negative contact with the register owner by telephone or at residence.
• Loud Music – Ridge Rd. In reference to the complainant’s neighbor playing loud music. After investigation, the music was turned off, and all was ok on location.
• Alarm – W Spring St; Monroe Library – Building checked on foot. All doors and windows were secure.
• Tree Down – S Broad St at 3rd St.- In reference to a tree down and blocking both lanes of travel.
• Tree down resulted in down power lines and roadway blockage. Monroe Fire Department and Monroe utilities were advised and responded.
• Suspicious Person- Lawrence St. – In reference to a subject sitting on the complainant’s porch and knocking on the complainant’s door at approximately 0030 Hours. Request of an extra patrol at night and criminally trespass if contact is made.
