MPD Reports: Juvenile arrested for drug possession on school property

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 4 – 11, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Juvenile complaint – Double Springs Church Rd., Monroe Area High School. Juvenile arrested for drug possession. 

Dispute – Lacy St. Ref to previous call. Contact was made with subject and she was advised to stay at Harris Street until things calmed down. 

Suspicious person – Harris St. Officer observed a subject and knew him to have an active warrant. He was arrested for an outstanding Walton County Sheriff’s Office warrant. 

Suspicious vehicle – Charlotte Rowell and West Spring St. In reference to a caller advising that a gold Chevy truck was failing to maintain lane. Officer observed the vehicle failing to maintain the lane and failure to use proper signaling while making a lane change. Driver was stopped and they advised that they were lighting a cigarette. Driver was was advised to keep it in their lane and sent on their way. 

Agency assist/Suspicious person – HW78 and Ceader Ridge. GSP 749 out with a white female that was stepping into traffic. 

Harassment – East Washington St. Complainant reported a number calling his mother and trying to scam her. Complainant was advised of available remedies. 

Found property – East Church St. Ref to a bike the complainant found on Bell St. and she thought it might be stolen. No serial number found. Bike given to local walking resident. 

Civil Issue – W Spring St. McDonalds. In reference to the complainant trying to get their son’s girlfriend to return a phone back to the complainant. Remedies were advised. All ok. 

Hit and Run – W Spring St. Quality Foods. In reference to a Jeep that struck the complainant’s 2011 black Cadillac. Report taken. 

Dispute – S Broad St. In reference to the complainant advising the property owner has locked them out of the residence. Complainant advised that that property owner recently filed for an eviction against them. Complainant was not served with their eviction notice yet. Property owner eventually unlocked the door for the complainant. All ok. 

Loud Music – Radford St. Subject advised he would turn the music down. 

Suspicious Person – Alcovy St. In reference to a homeless person on the porch. Subject was identified who stated she had walked from Atlanta last date. Subject left the location on foot without incident. All ok. 

Dispute – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. In reference to a male attempting to leave and is verbally aggressive towards the staff. Patient was calmed down upon officer arrival. All ok. 

Suspicious Person – S Hammond Dr. Two juveniles in the area on bicycles. Subjects were advised of curfew hours and were escorted to Edwards St.
