MPD Reports: Juvenile complaints, shoplifting and domestic disputes dominate

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 7 -13, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, Plaza Dr., reference to the complainant’s ex-girlfriend on location. Complainant stated ex-girlfriend was at his front door. He did not make contact with her as advised by officers last date.
  • Fraud Report, Magnolia Terrace, the complainant advised Google took $50.00 out of her bank account. She needed a report to get reimbursed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Charlotte Rowell at Hwy 78W, reference to a tractor-trailer, speeding and reckless. Negative contact.
  • Meet with Officer, South Madison Ave., Walton County Sheriff’s Office, complainant stated she filed a harassment report with the PD on Tuesday Dec. 4 in regards to named subject sending her almost 40 emails attempting to extort her. Subject sent her another email this date in regards to the extortion. CID was notified. Supplemental added.
  • Shoplifting, South Broad St., Chevron, reference to an unknown white male in a black hoodie taking a white T-Shirt. The clerk advised he wanted to make Officers aware and advised the subject comes in all the time and would call back. The subject left in a white Nissan car. No report requested.
  • Dispute, Unisia Dr., Hitachi, reference to subject possibly on location after being terminated. Officers had negative contact.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Walker Dr., reference to an unruly 15-year-old. Mother advised her two sons skipped school this date, and her oldest son was being disrespectful and unruly. The situation was mediated.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Plaza Dr., the situation was mediated. Everything ok.
  • Entering Auto, Parkway Place, reference to complainant reporting items stolen from his truck. An unknown male subject was seen on video entering the cab and bed of complainant truck at 0240 hours this date. Complainant requested extra patrol throughout the early morning hours. Report taken.
  • Meet with Officer, Plaza Dr., the complainant advised a bald white man with a black cane approached a female juvenile neighbor in reference to having her bring him the complainant’s 5-year grandson to him for $40. Male lives on the second floor on Plaza Dr. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Unisia Dr/Highway 78, reference to a black Honda Accord that was involved in a Hit and run on Highway 83. Negative contact.
  • Dispute, Church St., Chestnut Cupboard, reference to attempted shoplifting.  Issue resolved prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 78 EB/Unisia Dr., reference to a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was last seen turning right, EB, onto Highway 78. WCSO was advised since it was heading out of the city.
  • Illegal Drugs, Tall Oaks Dr., reference to complainant smelling Marijuana in his residence. Spoke with a resident at the adjoining residence about smoking in her residence.
  • Civil Issue, South Broad St., met with a complainant who advised male subject took her car keys but gave them back before he left the home. No domestic took place and the complainant was advised to contact MPD should male subject return and a domestic occur. All ok.
  • Damage to Property, Tall Oaks West, complainant advised an unknown subject damaged her front window between 1030 and 1357 hours. The residence was cleared. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, Madeline Natke was arrested for shoplifting. She was fingerprinted and released on a copy of the citation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to a black Honda Accord, cutting the complainant off. Officer had negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, Charlotte Rowel Blvd., reference to someone standing on side of the road. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Threats, 4th St., reference to threats via social media. Met with a complainant who advised his girlfriend’s ex-wife who lives in Oregon, made threats to kill him on Facebook messenger.  Report taken.
  • Mentally diminished person, Nicholas Court, reference to male subject making statements to kill his family while they slept. No statements or actions made while LEO on location and male subject suffers from dementia.  He voluntarily went with EMS to Piedmont Athens. All ok.
  • Animal Complaint, Edwards St., reference to the welfare of dogs outside in the rain. Dogs appeared ok. The caller did not wish to meet.
  • Dispute, Harris St., reference to complainant saying a female was knocking on his door who he did not want there. She was gone when officers arrived.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, Kelton Rd., reference to complainant wanting to report her ex-boyfriend calling his parent in Winder repeatedly.  I athe dvised complainant that they would have to file the report in the jurisdiction in which they lived.
  • Dispute, Maple St., Dispute between siblings over power in their house.  Mediated and separated.
  • Suspicious Person, Unisia Dr., reference to complainant paranoid about her Lyft vehicle being used to transport narcotics. Her vehicle was checked and she left the premises.
  • Traffic Stop, Green St., Lindsey Dennison was arrested for driving while license suspended and no insurance. He was fingerprinted and released. The 2010 Ford Focus was towed by the towing company.
  • Dispute, Sorrells St., mother and her son Robert Layde, were involved in a physical dispute over a missing phone. Robert pushed his mother and damaged property inside the residence. Incident was witnessed by a male subject. Robert was arrested for FV simple battery and FV criminal trespass.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, James Harris was arrested for shoplifting and disorderly conduct. He also had a warrant through WCSO. He was fingerprinted and transported to the jail.
