MPD Reports: Juvenile delinquents; man asleep at the wheel with his foot on the gas while vehicle in park; slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 4 – 10, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • EMS Assist – Breedlove Dr; Ridgeview – In reference to a welfare check for a patient called in by sister. Turned over to EMS and transported to Piedmont Walton.
  • Dispute – Pavilion Parkway; Planet Fitness – In reference to an argument that had taken place between three juvenile boys who were at the Waffle House on Hwy 78 E and another male. The juveniles stated that the man brandished a firearm and shined a green laser at them as they drove away. However, the other person involved and witnesses stated no firearm was brandished. Report Taken. Dispute Violent – Baron Dr – In reference to a dispute between male and female subjects. Caller advised the male was armed with a knife; however, upon officer arrival, no subject was armed with a knife. Parties were separated due to multiple conflicting stories.
  • Other Law – W Spring St – In reference to the complainant advising her husband was pushed over by double doors at a restaurant located within the city and was wanting to inquire about the process on civil remedies. Remedies were advised.
  • Disturbing the peace – Tanglewood Dr. – In reference to loud music and possible arguments outside. The area was checked, and loud music was heard; the music was asked to be turned down and agreed to be turned down. All okay

  • Suspicious Person – Breedlove Dr. Public Storage – In reference to subjects being on location in a vehicle after hours. The subjects were homeless, sleeping in the vehicle; had code due to having a storage unit on location. They were advised to move on from the location.
  • Traffic /Arrest – Hwy 78/Charlotte Rowell – Vehicle stopped due to traffic violation. The driver was taken into custody for DUI.
  • Downtown Patrol: 1800; 2000
  • Alarm – S Broad St; Trading Place – Building was checked, all ok on scene.
  • Suspicious Person – Mayfield Dr – In reference to an unknown male walking the property. The area was checked, no contact was made.
  • Suspicious Person – N Broad St – Reference report of a male on a bike leaning over the railing to the bridge. Contact was made with the male who stated he just briefly stopped. All ok on scene.
  • Warrant – Baker St – In reference to a named subject having a Failure to appear warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office without issue.
  • Suspicious Person – Lawrence St – In reference to subject standing in front of the complainant’s home for some time. He was sent on his way.
  • Funeral Escort – Units assisted the WCSO at Michael Etchison / MLK Jr Blvd, MLK Jr Blvd / W Spring & Charlotte Rowell / Pavilion Pkwy. All okay.
  • 911 Hang-up – Mears St. – Accidental dial. All okay on location.
  • Stalking Report – Hwy 138; Starbucks – In reference to employee advising of a customer possibly stalking her. She was advised of remedies and the process of obtaining an order of protection. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring / Wayne St – In reference to a Dodge Ram truck throwing an empty beer can out of the vehicle. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Damage to Property – Lacy St – In reference to a tree limb falling on subject’s vehicle. Report taken.
  • Area check – Pavilion Pkwy – Reference unknown subject throwing a backpack into the bushes in front of Marshalls. The backpack was located and only contained a small speaker inside. The complainant advised she believed the backpack was meant to be thrown out by the subject. The complainant was advised the backpack posed no concern to the public.
  • Downtown Walk – 1000; 1200; 1400
  • Child custody – Knight St. – In reference to subject and his “father” arguing over custody of subject’s son. Remedies were given, and another subject, who has legal power of attorney over the child, is getting the child for the night. All okay.
  • Dispute – Mobley Cir – Argument over vehicle keys that became a pushing match. Neither party wanted to prosecute and one female left the location for the night. Report completed. Business Alarm – West Spring St. Sake Express – Front Door motion; all appeared to be okay on Location.
  • Unknown Law – Tanglewood Dr – Complainant stated someone threw rocks at her vehicle. The complainant left the scene and did not want to meet with officers due to no damage.
  • Foot Patrol – Downtown – All okay.
  • Civil Issue – N Broad St; Church’s Chicken – In reference to the complainant disputing with employees, claiming her food was not freshly made. Employees advised that complainant took the food and left the location and came back several hours later, claiming her food was old. Complainant was provided remedies.
  • 911 Hang-up – Green St – Call cleared due to extensive history.
  • Dispute – GW Carver – The complainant stated she is having issues with a neighbor and their children. Verbal dispute between all parties and children regarding the shared government housing property. Remedies were advised.
  • Traffic Stop/ Arrest – Hwy 78 W & Cedar Ridge – In reference to a traffic stop on a vehicle with the driver who had a suspended driver’s license. Driver was arrested, fingerprinted, and released on a copy of the citation. All okay.
  • Scam – Colley St – In reference to an anonymous person making a phone call, scamming the complainant, and stating he was coming to the complainant’s residence. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop/ Arrest – Walker Dr & Mathis St- Subject was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop for an equipment violation. He was arrested and transported to MPD for processing and released on citation.
  • Entering Auto – G W Carver Dr – In reference to the complainant advising that his rear passenger window was busted out and money was stolen from his vehicle. Upon further investigation, complainant advised that the incident occurred in Winder, Ga. Complainant was advised of remedies and to contact the Winder Police Department to file a report at the incident location.
  • Suspicious Person – Sweetgum Rd – Complainant advised someone was walking near her home. Area check conducted, but no contact with anyone.
  • Downtown Patrol: 1800; 2000
  • Hit & Run – Glen Iris Drive – In reference to a Dodge Dakota striking two mailboxes and a tree. The pickup truck was left abandoned at the scene. Further investigation is needed. An incident report and GEARS report were completed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Creek View Drive – In reference to the complainant reporting that the landlord leaves the residence sober and returns intoxicated. Call cleared.
  • Unknown Law – GW Carver Dr – In reference to a male asleep behind the wheel while holding down the gas pedal with the vehicle in park. During the investigation, it was determined that the subject was under the influence of alcohol. The Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene and arrested the subject for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The vehicle was towed by Taylor’s Wrecker Service. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Knight Street – In reference to a domestic dispute involving a couple who were arguing over rent-related issues. No crime was committed. Both parties agreed to separate voluntarily.
  • Dispute – Ash St – In reference to a report of an unruly juvenile. The complainant stated that their son, who was recently expelled from school, has become increasingly aggressive and non- compliant with household rules. Officers advised the parents of available administrative remedies.
  • Civil Issue – Oak Ridge – In reference to obtaining personal property. Civil remedies were advised. The caller stated she had moved out of the residence but left some personal property behind. She was advised to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division for further assistance.
  • Other Law – E Spring Street; Taylor’s Wrecker Service – In reference to completing a vehicle release form for Taylor’s. Form completed.
  • Dispute – Aycock Ave. – In reference to a report of a domestic disturbance involving a couple undergoing a separation. A neighbor initiated the call after overhearing a verbal dispute coming from the apartment. Upon making contact with the involved parties, it was determined that the argument was verbal and that no crime had been committed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle) 725 South Madison Avenue; Felker Park. In reference to a juvenile riding a dirt bike recklessly in the area. The area was checked; negative contact.
  • Downtown Foot Patrol: 1000 Hours; 1200 Hours; 1400 Hours; 1600 Hours
  • Dispute – Davis Street. – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects over a vehicle. Both parties were advised of remedies.
  • Dispute – Perry Street – In reference to complainant stating that subject pulled her hair and her shirt. No physical injuries were observed. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Green Street -Verbal dispute between two subjects. Parties were separated and advised of remedies.
  • Accident – Roosevelt Street at Roberts Street – Two vehicles with no injuries reported on scene. Report in GEARS.
  • Threats – East Fambrough Street – In reference to complainant advising officers that his father made a threat toward him. There were no independent third-party witnesses on scene or other supporting evidence to establish probable cause. Report taken.
  • Theft Report – Walmart- In reference to an employee’s tablet being reported stolen. Contact was made with the loss prevention team, who advised that no cameras captured the area where the tablet had been located. It was later discovered that the tablet had been turned in to customer service and was returned to the owner without incident.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Your Pie – In reference to the staff on scene reporting delinquent juveniles on location causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the juveniles had dispersed. Remedies were advised to the staff.
