MPD Reports: Juvenile discipline issues, sleepy driver and pistol found in mud next to building

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 20 – 27, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Illegal Parking – Bolton St. and Baker St.: In reference to a black truck parked on the street due to the construction of a new residence. The complainant wants to meet at Bolton St. Vehicle was moved from the roadway. 
  • Suspicious Person – S. Madison Ave. (Felker Park): In reference to a gray GMC Truck parked in the back of the park near the boys and girls club. Sleepy driver. All okay.
  • Burglary report – Plaza Dr. at Your Extra Attic in reference to a burglary of the storage unit. Report taken.
  • Other Law – Chestnut Lane: In reference to the complainant being confined to the residence. It was explained that she had to listen to her mother.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – N. Broad St. at Golden Pantry in reference to vehicle unable to maintain lane. A traffic stop conducted; two citations issued.
  • Theft – Ford Street – In reference to the complainant’s shed being broken into.
  • Found property – US Renal. In reference to 45 ACP Hi-Point pistol found in the mud next to building. Submitted into evidence.
  • Shoplifting – Walmart. The caller advised that a female was on location and was getting into a passenger car. Was unable to locate the suspect or caller at this time.
  • 911 Hang up – Carver Pl. Made contact they stated they were ok and did not call 911.
  • Mental Patient – Glen Iris Dr; Subject transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS after suffering a mental health episode.
  • Fight – GW Carver. The caller stated a large group of juveniles were fighting in the street. No persons observed outside upon arrival. All ok.
  • Civil Issue – GW Carver Housing. Responded to complainant calling stating she has been informed that the subject is now showing nude pictures of her that were stored on the phone that he now has. Advised her how to remotely wipe the phone and process for her to swear a warrant out for Prohibition on nude or sexually explicit electronic transmissions.
  • 911 Hang up – Monroe Motor Inn. Dispatched to 911 hang-up. Negative contact. While checking the area mediated an unrelated loud verbal argument between two of the motel guests.
  • Loud Music – Walker Dr. Male playing music from the car. turned the music down. All ok.
  • Missing Person – Etten Dr. Complainant stated that she had not heard from her son in over a week. She stated that she believed he was at Rainbow in Covington, but they wouldn’t give her any information. Advised her to contact Covington PD to try and make contact at Rainbow.
