MPD Reports: Juvenile reported missing located in the doghouse

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incident reports for the period June 11 – 18, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Found Property – Russell Dr. in reference to two bicycles that appeared new dumped in someone’s trash. 
  • Person Armed – S. Madison Ave. (Quick Pick Food Mart): In reference to the complainant having a firearm pointed at her and her brother. Report made.
  • Missing Person – Country Club Dr. in reference to a 4-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was located in the doghouse before officer arrival.
  • Juvenile Complaint – New Lacy St. in reference to ongoing issues with juveniles in the area. Complainant advised of remedies and guardians contacted and given a warning.
  • Assault – Ridge Rd. in reference to two females involved in a fight. One was placed under arrest for Battery and Obstruction.
  • Damage to Property – Booth Dr.: In reference to an unknown vehicle striking the complainant’s vehicle and leaving the scene. Report taken.
  • Welfare Check – W. Spring St. in reference to a male patient leaving ER on foot with IV still in his arm. Contact made in front of Murphy USA and returned to the hospital. All Oaky.
  • 911 Hang-Up – S. Broad St. -Complainant called in reference to a subject who is homeless in the area yelling at her. The complainant refused to speak with the responding officer. Contact was made with the subject who advised he was yelling but would not provide any further information.
  • Traffic Stop – Atha St. /S. Madison. Reference to a Silver Honda civic that failed to stop at a stop sign. Further investigation revealed that the driver had active warrants out of Walton County. Walton County confirmed the warrants but denied placing a hold on him.
  • Shots Fired – Hwy 78. Aggravated Assault suspect was being followed by the victim on 78 into the city. Contact was made and a short car chase followed before the suspect gave up. He was arrested on Monroe charges of driving under the influence, poss. less 1oz, Loganville Police Department is investigating the aggravated assault.
  • Runaway – Knight St. A woman was reporting her daughter as missing in the past 2100 hours. The daughter has a history of running away from home. She was listed on GCIC as missing.
  • 911 hang-up – E. Marable. Reference to a 911 hangup call. Heavy static online. On callback, voicemail states number is out of service. E. Marable St. is Matthews Park. Residents on both sides of the park checked, all residents advised everything ok. Dispatch advised the number associated with the 911 call has been out of service since 2018.
  • Dispute – Maple Way Anonymous complainant stated they heard screaming from this residence. Upon contact with the homeowner, everything OK.
  • Dispute – Maple Ln. Anonymous caller, All residents ok.
  • Dispute – Knight St. The runaway from the previous call returned home then attempted to leave again. She was convinced to return home with her mother and was removed from GCIC as a runaway.
  • Suspicious person – MLK Jr. Blvd., Anytime Fitness. A homeless individual was outside the business. EMS transported the individual to Piedmont Walton about leg pain.
  • Fraud – 6th St. Complainant wanted to make police aware that he had received a fraud call about winning the lottery and had been requested to send $4,800 to the caller. The complainant advised he did not send any money.
  • Theft – S. Broad St., MPD. The complainant reported a stolen/lost cell phone that occurred on 6/14/2020.
  • Trespassing – W. Spring St., Liberty First Bank. Ref. a subject sleeping at the front door of the bank overnight. Employees request foot patrol overnight to keep him away.
  • Theft Report – E. Washington St., Ref to food that was delivered to the wrong house, she was advised of remedies, so this doesn’t re-occur.
  • Fraud – Thompson Ridge Dr. Complainant purchased $1000.00 in Walmart gift cards to an unknown person representing Amazon.
  • Fraud – W. Spring St; Walmart. Ref. civil issue over gifted money.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St. Vacant residence with evidence of someone living inside. Owner requested extra patrol and was advised on how to secure residence.
  • Theft Report – Michael Cir. Complainant reported losing his phone on Friday, June 12. Report taken.
  • Suspicious person – Tanglewood Dr. 3rd party caller advised of a fight in the area. Complainant advised multiple subjects in the area trying to fight him. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart. Suspect reportedly shoplifted items. She was released on citation.
  • Dispute – Plaza Dr. – In reference to subject and his mother were having an argument over the tv. Report taken.
  • Suicidal Threat – Hwy 138. In reference to subject making threats to harm herself due to issues going on at home. The subject’s mother was contacted in which she had her mother meet with officers and take custody of subject.
