MPD Reports: Juvenile shot with BB gun, juveniles skipping school and bullying complaint

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 11 – 17, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic – Magnolia Ter.: Complainant called back to say Robert Brown was back on location along with her parents. Complainant and subject earlier today had been more physical with her than she originally told officers and she had fresh scratch marks on her hand.  The complainant said she tried to walk away to defuse the situation when Brown grabbed her by her hair dragging her back inside the vehicle. I asked the complainant for consent to search her apartment due to a very strong odor of marijuana and complainant said Brown subject deals and even mentioned that there were not pounds of marijuana in the apartment. Warrant to be Taken on Brown for Battery-FV, Criminal Trespass, Simple Assault x2
  • Domestic – Bridgeport Pl. – In ref. to complainant saying she was assaulted by her great grandson’s girlfriend. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – Bridgeport/W. Fambrough St.: Jontize Giles arrested for Driving While License Suspended and Disorderly Conduct (False Name and DOB). Derrion Jackson arrested for Probation Violation.  Backseat passenger (unknown black male) ran on foot as the stop was made. Vehicle turned over to Bridgeport Place registered owners’ house. Jackson Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.  Giles fingerprinted and released on a copy.
  • Domestic – Plantation Dr.: Complainant advised that her sister was being actively assaulted by her husband. The husband was gone prior to arrival. Report taken. Warrant To Be Taken.
  • Fight – Tall Oaks: Report of 8-9 subjects fighting in yards. All participants were gone on arrival.
  • Agency Assist – Conastoga Mobile Home Park.  DFACS needed an Officer to stand by while they removed children from the home. All ok.
  • Meet With – Taylor’s Towing.  Staff on location wanting to advise of an owner of a vehicle that was towed came to the business trying to get his car back after hours.  They asked for extra patrol.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Vine St. – Conestoga. Complainant advised her 11-year-old daughter was refusing to go to school. The juvenile was driven to school by the complainant. Incident was documented so Walton Co. Sherriff’s Office – SRO could follow up on accusations of bullying.
  • Warrant Served – University Pkwy – Gwinnett County Jail. Carrie Anne Tarvin was arrested for Failure to Appear warrant out of Monroe Police Department and fingerprinted. She was released to the Walton County Jail.
  • Shoplifting – S. Broad St. – John’s Supermarket. A juvenile was charged with shoplifting. A juvenile complaint will be filed.
  • Threats – W. Spring St. – Burger King. The general manager stated the corporate office received a concerning email from a Monroe customer in reference to him wanting to do “undesirable” things. Remedies advised. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. in reference to a dispute between two subjects. Report taken.
  • Theft – W. Spring St. – In reference to a stolen Kindle Fire. Met with the complainant who stated he just wants the item returned. Report taken.
  • EMS Assist – S. Broad – In reference to a juvenile shot with a BB gun. Both parents of the juveniles were advised of remedies if this were to become an ongoing incident.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Cook St. – Complainant reported her son skipped school.  He was located and returned home.
  • Juvenile Issue – Baker St. – Both the juvenile, and the guardians were advised of remedies. The situation was resolved. All ok.
  • Power Line Down – Hammond Dr. at the New Mercies Pentecostal Temple – A security light pole was down in the side yard of the church.  Monroe Utilities was advised.
  • Noise Complaint – Pine Park Street – In reference to a large crowd in the parking lot.  The crowd quickly disbursed as police arrived.
  • 911 Hang Up – Baker St., – Teresa Lowe called 911 looking for her mother.  Stated she wanted her name on the radio.  Ms. Lowe suffers from mental issues.
  • Animal Assist – Southview Dr. – Dog barking aggressively, sounds as if it was fighting something. Everything appeared ok on officers’ arrival.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. – Two subjects were disputing over male subject coming to the house intoxicated. He left for the night. All ok.
