MPD Reports: Juveniles shooting at cars with BB guns

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 5 – 12, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Maple St. – In reference to a subject damaging vehicle of the complainant. 
  • Meet with – at Universal Rundle in reference to speaking with a subject who is the new owner. Advised he will be fixing the place up and no one is to be on the property other than workers.
  • Juvenile Problem – Nowell St.: In reference to juveniles possibly shooting at vehicles. Complainant advised me that another officer was out earlier this date and will me make a report when he comes on duty this date.
  • Dispute – Lacy St. Complainant said ex-boyfriend was knocking at her door and would not leave. Parties were separated.
  • Juvenile problem – Nowell St. in reference to juveniles shooting a BB gun at neighbors’ cars. Spoke with parents and report made.
  • Suspicious person – Towler St; Requests extra patrol throughout the night in reference to an unknown male whom they believe is not supposed to be in the area. The subject is driving a black passenger car.
  • Dispute – Tangle Wood Dr. Dispute between parents. No domestic relationship and parties were separated.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Madison Ave. and Washington St. in reference to a male walking in the roadway. The area was checked and no contact.
  • Missing Person – Heritage Tr. in reference to subject walking away from care home. The subject was located returned to his home.
  • Entering Auto – Wellington Dr. in reference to Cameron Brinkley attempting to break into cars. He was located and arrested. Felony Obstruction x2, Terroristic threats x2, public intox, loitering and prowling, simple battery on Law Enforcement Officer, criminal attempt to commit entering auto.
  • Stolen Car – N. Broad St. in reference to Dan Flynn false reporting his car stolen. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and jailed due to high levels of intoxication.
  • Dispute – Sweetgum Dr. in reference to a subject entered the residence without permission after he was given a criminal trespass on September 25, 2019. Seeking a warrant for the subject’s arrest for Criminal Trespass.
  • Agency Assist – W. Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Reference to incident at Tall Oaks Lane. EMS requesting MPD units in reference to the subject not cooperating on location. All okay upon arrival.
  • Suspicious person – E. Washington St., Monroe Post Office. Subject asleep on location, left premise, all ok.
  • Illegal Parking – Michael Cir. Ref to vehicles parked on both sides of the road where a school bus could not get though. Officer provided ground guide assistance and bus made it though, all ok.
  • Dispute – E. Church St. – Exceptional Community Services in reference to a subject verbally disputing with ex-employee over money. Both parties were advised the civil procedure and one subject was served with a criminal trespass warning.
  • Harassment – Country Club Dr. Reference to two complainants receiving harassing texts and facebook comments from subject.
  • Damage to Property – Wellington Dr. No damage actually occurred. The complainant requested a report to document suspicious activity in the area.
  • Threats – S. Broad Street – MPD. Complainant advised a subject has been threatening her on social media in reference to not caring for her juvenile son. Remedies were advised.
  • Welfare Check – King St. Reference to an anonymous caller regarding a subject and her daughter
  • Theft -New Lacy St – Complainant advised that one of her (juvenile) nieces took her phone earlier in the day to play with it and they misplaced it somewhere in the house. I asked Ms. Mathis’ nieces if they could find their aunt’s phone and give it back to her. They said yes, and started looking for her phone.
  • Other Law – Towler St.; 4 – Management company wanted subject to leave the property. the subject does not live on location and left at the management company’s request.
  • Suspicious Person – Country Club Dr.- Complainant advised a white male walked through her yard towards the back of her residence. Officer walked the area on foot and had negative contact. Extra patrol conducted.
  • Property Damage – E. Washington St. and S. Broad St. – Semi-truck making a right turn on to S. Broad St, sideswiped the crosswalk sign breaking it off the pole.
  • Transport – George Walton Academy – Subjects given a courtesy ride to Nowell Street.
