MPD Reports: Laptop stolen from vehicle, hair stolen from salon, wrong way driver and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 19 – 26, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Etten Dr.- Complainant stated a male on location took her phone.  While Officers were on scene, she decided she was not worried about it.  The two parties were not in a domesticated relationship.  
  • Damage to Property – Tall Oaks W. – Complainant reported coming home to find his back door cracked open and a bedroom window busted out, no items taken.
  • Warrant attempt – E. Spring St., Auto zone. Everette Preston Townley arrested for Oconee County warrant. Everett turned over to Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at Striplings.
  • Dispute – N. Broad St., Susie’s Wings. In reference to a black male and female subject disputing. The dispute was called in by a third party. An area check was conducted with negative contact.
  • Trespassing – S. Broad St., Monroe Auto Sales. Complainant reports a b/m possibly sleeping in a shed on the property. Contact made with a subject who was homeless and a schizophrenic patient. Thomas was turned over to  EMS for hearing voices and diabetic related issues.
  • Mental patient – Barron Dr. 17-year-old female was having a psychotic episode; the caregiver requesting no police due to mental status. Patient declined treatment and transport, all ok.
  • Damage to property – S. Broad St., Dollar General. Complainant advised damage was caused to his green Ford F350 while he was inside the store. Report taken.
  • Entering Auto – N. Broad St., Amici’s in reference to the complainant having his laptop stolen from his vehicle on Wednesday last week while working at Amici’s.
  • Dispute – Claywheel Cir. in reference to two parties disputing over money and female wanting male kicked out. Both parties were advised of civil remedies.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Beautyville. In reference to a black female subject stealing hair. Report taken.
  • Fireworks – Towler St; – Area checked for a large fire and report of fireworks being shot off and hitting nearby houses. Contact made at Towler Street with the individual, who stated they were done with fireworks.
  • Wrong Way Driver – Hwy 78- In reference to a vehicle in the County driving east in the westbound lane.  The vehicle was described as a gray Charger. Officer observed a vehicle matching the description in the area of Unisia Drive.  By the time Officers were able to catch up to the vehicle it was in the County.  The vehicle failed to maintain lane multiple times.  County was advised and their OIC advised for Officers to go back to City.
  • Damage to Property – Wheelhouse Ln; E Complainant stated someone threw a can through her window due to an argument with someone else in the residence. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Roosevelt St. – Two parties were in a verbal dispute. Parties agreed to separate for the night and to get along.
  • Theft Report -Cedar Lane in reference to firearm missing after a family gathering.
  • Welfare Check – N. Midland Ave.- In reference to the subject having a mental crisis. Subject transported to Piedmont Walton for voluntary evaluation.
  • Animal Complaint – Reed St.: In reference to a deer being injured. The complainant had a question on what to do with the animal.
