MPD Reports: Large fight reported, burglary, suicide threats and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 9 – 16, 2020. Due to the length, this report has. been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Area check – International House of Pancakes. Caller advised that the parking lot was flooding. Upon investigation, the water line had busted. Contacted Fire and Utilities to shut off water. 
  • Dispute – Maple Lane in reference to 20 to 30 males arguing. Gone on arrival.
  • Fight – N. Broad St. Waffle House; Employees on location stated multiple subjects were arguing in the store and started fighting in the parking lot. All of the involved subjects were Gone on arrival.
  • Burglary – South Broad St., Trading Place. Took over the scene for the night shift, all ok. Prowler – Towler St. Area searched with negative contact. All ok.
  • Follow Up – Towler St. Ref to above prowler and complainant now stating two males were trying to break in, Complainant possibly mental patient, all ok.
  • Entering Auto – Unisia Dr., Hitachi. Reference to complainant having $200 taken out her vehicle.
  • Area Check – Hill St. Complainant wanted to make sure his residence was secure due to a homeless person in the area. All ok.
  • Welfare check – MLK Jr. Blvd., Tractor Supply. Complainant advised he broke up with a subject and she made suicidal comments. Contact made with subject. All ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle – East Spring St., 1025 Church. Ref. to an occupied van parked on the side of the building.
  • Suspicious person – N. Broad St., Wow Express. Ref to a w/f walking in a gown trying to flag vehicles down.
  • Suspicious person – Bold Springs Road., All Star. Ref to a naked b/m entered the store throwing feces. Area searched and located the subject on John Deer Rd. Transported by EMS for a mental evaluation.
  • Agency assist – E. Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn. Ref to GA probation fighting with a felony warrant subject. Probation arrested two subjects and drugs were turned into MPD evidence by the officer.
  • Found Property – S. Madison Ave., Senior Citizen Center. Subject who is homeless left some of his belongings here and was moving them into a shed at Monroe Auto Sales. He was arrested for criminal trespass for being on location at Monroe Auto Sales where he was barred from on Friday.
  • Dispute – E. Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn, Dispute between two subjects that started in Young Pines. Conflicting stories. Parties separated.
  • Assault – G.W. Carver Dr. – Subject was arrested for simple battery. He punched a subject in the forehead and left a significant bump.
  • Extra Patrol – Pannell Rd. in reference to equipment left on location. The equipment should be moved by the weekend.
