MPD Reports: Man arrested on warrants after locking himself out of his residence

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 9 – 15, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Trespassing, West Spring St., reference to Ashaun Hawkins being on Walmart Property the day after getting a criminal trespass warning. He was arrested on citation and transported to WCSO Jail.
  • Suspicious Person, Baron Dr., reference to complainant seeing someone standing on his porch after ringing doorbell but not answering. The subject then ran off before police arrived. Area checked with negative contact.
  • EMS Assist, Lawrence St., reference to a 95-year-old male on the floor. Upon arrival, EMS advised the patient was deceased. CID was notified and the scene was turned over to the Coroner.
  • Meet with Officer, Carwood Dr., reference to subject locking himself out of his residence. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant through Walton County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Jail without incident.
  • Traffic Stop, North Broad St., Tanglwood Dr., While the officer was conducting an area check, she observed Stenny Smith operating a motor vehicle on Tanglewood Drive. Stenny ran the stop sign on Tanglewood Drive at North Broad Street. He was stopped and placed under arrest. He was charged with driving while license suspended and given a warning for the stop sign violation. He was released on a copy of the citation.
  • EMS Assist, Towler St., Monroe Skydive, reference to a female subject refusing treatment and acting suspiciously. She was given a courtesy ride to Checkers. All ok.
  • Suicide Attempt, Windsor Dr., daughter sent her mother a text message stating she took a bunch of pills. The daughter stated she only took melatonin, but it was unknown as to how much or if she took anything else. The daughter stated she did not want to live anymore. She was transported to Piedmont Walton by MED 2.
  • Animal Complaint, South Broad St., Southside MHP, reference to a K9 going to the complainant’s residence and growling at him. The complainant did not want to meet with the Officer, he only wanted the owner advised to keep the dog on their property. Officer made contact with the owner, she stated the K9 is currently inside the residence and advised she would make sure the K9 stayed in her yard. Everything on location ok.
  • Found Property, MPD, Dolce Tierney advised he located a wallet in the parking lot of Wells Fargo. The wallet belonged to a who resides at on Creek View Drive. Officer made contact with the sister, on location and left the wallet with her upon the owner’s request.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to an adult pushing around a small child. An area check was conducted with negative contact, everything on location ok.
  • Suspicious Subjects, Perry St., reference to subjects inside the vacant apartment. Officers checked the apartment and all appeared ok.
  • Suspicious Person, reference to a male subject being intoxicated and laying in the roadway. Due to complaints of chest pains, he was taken to Piedmont/Walton ER by EMS.
  • Dispute, Applebee’s., group of patrons disputing at the bar.  Parties were gone when officer’s arrived. Advised to call if any further issue.
  • Suspicious Person, Tanglewood, responded to the area due to Eleazar Zambrano acting strange in the area.  He led officers to a house where Jason Welser was located with a warrant out of Gwinnett County.  While speaking with the two other males at the home, David Ludwig and Robert Bray, officers obtained consent to search the home and located methamphetamine in various locations within the home. All three males were arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
  • Suspicious person, South Madison at Atha Street in reference to a black male wearing camo jacket yelling in the street.  The subject was gone on arrival.
  • Meet complainant, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to two juveniles.  Juveniles were taken to the hospital by grandmother who did not know any information about the children.  DFACS was contacted and biological mother was finally contacted.  Situation was resolved and kids turned back over to mother.  DFACS will follow up.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., female on location causing a disturbance.  The subject was transported to Waffle House on West Spring Street.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., a male subject on location sleeping in the lobby. Hospital staff requested for him to leave. He was given a ride to Hardees.
  • EMS Assist, West Spring St., a female subject on location having medical problems. She was transported by EMS to Piedmont Walton.
  • Disabled vehicle, S. Broad St./Walker Dr., male subject advised he was having medical issues.  EMS notified.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St. Subject on location sleeping in the lobby. He was transported to the Circle K at Hwy 78/Troy Smith Rd.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., a female subject on location sleeping in the lobby and asking people for rides. She was advised to leave the property.
  • Hit and Run at Dairy Queen, Samantha Mitchell struck another vehicle and fled the scene.  Mitchell was located at the end of Chestnut Ln.  Mitchell was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.  The vehicle was towed by towing company.
  • Dispute, Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., met with the complainant who stated that female subject accused her of stealing her identity. I transported her to the corner of Hwy 138 & Hwy 81. She advised she had a place to stay off of Wagon Trl.
  • Civil Matter, East Marable St., met with the complainant and explain to her that it was a civil matter. She was advised the necessary steps to take to handle it.
  • Theft, Baron Dr., a customer called stating she did not receive the correct change from Dollar General.  She stated she was attempting to change a $50 bill into smaller bills and only got two $10 bills in return.  Officer went to Dollar General and spoke to the manager who showed the video as well as pulled both drawers and counted them.  Both drawers were short, and the video did not show any other money being taken from the drawer.  It was determined this was a civil issue.  Report made.
  • Suspicious Person at Golden Pantry. A white male in the parking lot for 30+ minutes. The person was gone when officers arrived and employees were advised to call back if he returned.
  • Welfare Check, Tanglewood lane in reference to caller not being able to get in touch with her mother.  Contact was made, and all is ok.
  • Wanted Person, Mill St., Tiffany Mathis was on scene and taken into custody for drug warrants. Supplemental added to original case number for the arrest.
