MPD Reports: Man shoots himself in the finger, juveniles throw rocks at cars, snake removed from bedroom

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 29 to Sept. 5, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Shots Fired – Monroe Estates in reference to the complaint stating she saw subjects fire multiple rounds from what appeared to be a handgun. Negative contact with anyone, no shell casings located 
  • Assault – Piedmont Walton. Complainant advised she was involved in a domestic dispute with her mother earlier in the day. During the dispute her mother allegedly pushed complainant into the railing of the porch causing her pain to her ribs. The mother was taken into custody for simple batter family violence.
  • Dispute – Marable Ln. Complainant in a verbal dispute with subject. Complainant stated subject threatening to beat her up. He was gone on arrival, report taken.
  • Dispute – Gatewood way. Complainant stated that her granddaughter baby father was on location beating on the door. Male was on location dropping off complainant’s granddaughter after being at a party. She was very intoxicated and was assisted inside.
  • EMS assist – Gatewood Way. Subject’s granddaughter was heavily intoxicated and not alert, Turned over to EMS.
  • Damage to property – Walton Truck Stop. In reference to juveniles standing in the median and throwing rocks at passing vehicles. Negative contact with the juveniles. Report taken
  • Follow up – Piedmont Walton. Staff called after complainant from previous incident told them that her granddaughter was thrown out of a moving car. Unable to speak with the granddaughter at this time due to the level of intoxication.
  • Suspicious Person – Legends Dr.: Complainant advised a white female was on his front porch. She was identified and has had a mental history. She was given a ride to her residence at Alcovy St. All okay.
  • Animal Complaint – Breedlove Dr: In reference to a snake in the complainants’ bedroom. The black snake was removed safely.
  • Suspicious Person – E Spring St (Monroe Motor Inn): Reference subject on location in a gray Honda driving without a license. Gray Honda on location but was parked with no occupants.
  • Welfare Check – Tanglewood Dr- In reference to subject slapping individual during a domestic dispute. Subject arrested and charged with family violence simple battery.
  • Domestic – Tanglewood Lane Two subjects verbally disputing. Report taken.
  • Person Shot – S Broad St: In reference to subject discharging his firearm and striking his left finger. Subject was transported to Walton Medical for treatment. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Pool at Ashton Pt. Subjects swimming in the pool. They live in the apartments and advised they would contact the manager. However, said they have had people who do not live in the apartments getting into the pool.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Bold Springs Rd. and Highway 11 – White Kia Van driving reckless. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Dispute – GW Carver Dr. Two subjects on location disputing over a car key. Parties separated; report taken.
  • Dispute – S. Madison Ave.; Two subjects were involved in an argument over another subject playing Fortnight. Situation mediated; parties separated.
  • Dispute – Cook Street; Two subjects were involved in a dispute where one subject allegedly threatened the other with a knife. One subject was gone on arrival. insufficient Probable Cause to charge subject.
  • Drugs – Cook St.; Anthony Greer and Johnny Watts signed consent to search forms after drug paraphernalia and residue was observed in plain sight. No further items of contraband located. No charges taken.
