MPD Reports: Man strips at laundry; man claims a collapsed lung and insists on treatment

The City of Monroe Police Department reports the following incidents for the period Feb. 13 – 20, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Traffic Stop – McDaniel & Spring Pl. Subject arrested for Driving under the influence, headlight violations, and no insurance after a traffic stop. 
  • Transport – Newton County. Subject picked up on Monroe Police Department bench warrant.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St., Spring Street Laundry. In reference to a male subject on location taking his clothes off. Subject was gone on arrival.
  • Prisoner transport – Alcovy St., – Georgia Probation Office.
  • Found property – Plaza Dr. Ref to .22 Marlin found by maintenance. Weapon collected and turned into evidence.
  • Warrant attempt – Bridgeport Pl. Subject arrested for warrant out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Suspicious person – S. Broad St., First Methodist Church. Third party call in reference to a w/m walking in cammo jacked that yelled and threatened the pastor who offered assistance. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Civil issue – W. Spring St., Piedmont Walton. The subject advised the hospital was refusing treatment for collapsed lungs. Hospital provided print out of x-ray diagnosis advising lungs were fine as well as discharge paperwork.
  • Suspicious person – W. Spring St. Piedmont Walton. ER advised of a discharged patient in room 10 (from case above) refusing to leave. He was escorted off the property.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – in the area of McDaniel and Breedlove. Silver passenger car Failure to Maintain Lane, car was stopped and the driver checked ok.
  • Suspicious person – S. Madison Ave., MFD. The subject was arrested for an outstanding WCSO warrant.
  • Damage to Property – Court St, In reference to damage to property, spoke with the complainant. Report and photos were taken.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Quality Foods. Subject was seen possibly taking items. He was issued a criminal trespass. No charges taken.
  • Civil Issue – S. Broad St. – MPD Lobby Complainant reports subject took a phone back that he pays for. Advised of civil and TPO remedies.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. Walmart. Reference to a w/m wearing a brown jacket matching the description of a shoplifting suspect from last week. The subject was gone on arrival
