MPD Reports: Man threatens to burn down house because of demons

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 14 – 21, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Theft in progress – E. Church St.- Ref: Complainant reporting an unknown black male subject taking a red backpack from the front porch of her residence. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – W>Spring St. – Walmart. The complainant stated her vehicle, a white 2017 Honda CR- was damaged this date in the Walmart parking lot between 1100 and 1200 hours. It is unknown as to what caused the damage. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop – Wayne St. and W. Spring St. –  A red 2015 Hyundai Sonata was stopped for equipment violation. The driver was arrested for driving without a license. He was released on a copy of the citation.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Double Springs Church Rd. – MAHS in reference to complainant stating her 17-year-old daughter has been acting unruly and refusing to return to their residence.
  • Juvenile Runaway -Pierce St. in reference to 17-year-old, not returning home for over 24 hours. Subject was located and contact was made at MAHS where she goes to school. DFCS was contacted through the school and made aware of subjects’ situation.
  • Mental health Subject – Alcovy St. in reference to a mental health subject threatening to burn the house down because of demons. The subject was transported to Piedmont Walton for a voluntary mental health evaluation.
  • Damage to Property – E Church St – Chevron in reference to complainant having sugar poured into the fuel tank of his 2007 Ford 500 in the area of Carver Place between the hours of 03:00 – 09:30 hours. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Walmart. Woman arrested for theft by shoplifting. Jones was fingerprinted and released on a copy of the citation.
  • Damage to property -Towler St. – Damage to the door handle area of the apartment. Appeared as if someone had been trying to break in. Report taken. Extra patrol request
  • Found Property – S. Broad St.- In reference to a pink book bag found by resident in her yard. No identifying items in book bag. Placed into evidence for safekeeping.
  • Intoxicated Person – N. Broad St. at J&B Foodmart – Benjamin Patmon was found to be intoxicated to the point of falling at J&B Food Mart.  Owners requested he get criminally trespassed from the property for the on-going issue.  Patmon refused to sign the citation and was taken into custody.  Search incident to arrest located an amount of marijuana. Report taken.  Jailed on Citations.
