MPD Reports: Man wanted help getting money and valentine gifts back

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 15 – 21, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Welfare Check, South Broad St., met with the complainant, reference to a group of juveniles yelling in her yard at each other.  Group was gone when officers arrived. The complainant was advised of remedies.
  • Dispute, GW Carver Dr., reference to a disagreement between two subjects over a fire in a barrel in the yard.  Parties separated and the fire was ok.
  • Suspicious person in the area of King St. ref to a B/M wearing all black yelling in the middle of the street. Contact made with the male subject who was intoxicated. The subject was sent home, all ok.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., two subjects were both intoxicated and disputing.  One subject was given a ride to her residence.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., Haven Inn Room. Candace Craft was arrested for disorderly conduct after damaging property at the Haven Inn.
  • Damage to property, GW Carver, made contacthe t with complainant who advised he was dropping his son off at a residence on GW Carver Circle. While inside the residence he heard a loud noise and looked out the window. The back window to his vehicle had been broken out. No property reported missing. Ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Broad St., Gold N Pawn. While on an area check, the officer located a suspicious vehicle parked behind the pawn shop. Vehicle was a black 2002 Chevrolet Silverado (GA tag #) registered to a Barry Broach whom had an active warrant through Walton County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated stalking. The subject was soon located at the Chevron across the street. He was arrested and taken to the Walton County Jail. Supplement added to original case number.
  • Civil Matter/Mental Subject, Cook Place, reference to a male subject wanting to retrieve money and Valentines gifts he gave to someone at Cook Place. Male subject is a mental health patient at Exceptional Community Services located on East Church St. The manager of the facility came to pick subject up and take him home. Everything on location ok.
  • Traffic Stop, South Broad St. Officer observed a black Honda Accord bearing tag # with a brake light out. After stopping the vehicle, it was determined that it had no valid insurance and a suspended tag. The driver was issued citations and the vehicle was towed by towing co.
  • Dispute, Perry St., reference to two subjects having a verbal dispute. Subjects were arguing over money and female took her house key and left the residence on foot. An area check was conducted for female with negative contact. There were no signs or allegations of the dispute being physical. Report taken.
  • Civil Issue, Claywill Circle, reference to complainant stating someone owed her money and wanted information of what to do. Complainant was advised of Civil remedies.
  • Traffic Stop, Hickory Dr./East Marable St. Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. The passenger, David Fink, had two active warrants for his arrest. One out of WCSO for animal abandonment and one out of MPD for probation violation. He was fingerprinted and taken to the Walton County Jail. The driver was released on a warning.
  • Dispute, Claywill Circle, reference to female subject disputing with her brother and another subject over money. Parties were separated and the female subject was advised again of the civil procedure.
  • Lost Item, Nowell St., the complainant reported her ex-girlfriend left in a vehicle containing her wallet and cell phone.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of North Broad St/Charlotte Rowel, Ref to a white passenger car failing to maintain lane. The area was checked with negative contact.
  • Traffic Stop, Highland Ave./North Bd., reference to male subject having a small amount of Marijuana. Subject was previously kicked out by his parents and did not have a place to stay. Given a room at Haven Inn by F.I.S.H. Marijuana placed into evidence to be destroyed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of South Broad and the Chevron. The complainant advised Silver car failing to maintain lane. The vehicle was located on South Broad.  The driver was arrested for driving under the influence – a second subject was arrested for Public Drunk.
  • Dispute, Baron Dr., issue over personal property.  Complainant was advised of the civil process.
  • Dispute, West Creek Cir., the complainant was gone when officers arrived and the resident was unfamiliar with the call. The caller advised dispute involved a male subject at another residence and no male was on location.
  • Suspicious person, East Church, Wells Fargo, the subject was playing games on his phone. Everything appeared ok.
  • Suicide threats, Sorrells St., reference to a female subject having suicidal thoughts and wanting transport to the hospital. Taken to Piedmont Walton.
  • Entering Auto, Ford St., reference to someone entering complainant’s unlocked Red Dodge Ram 1500. A black bag containing bed sheets was taken, Complainant did not want to prosecute but wanted to make Law Enforcement aware of the incident. Complainant’s requested that Officers conduct an extra patrol of Ford Street a night.
  • Welfare Check, Sorrells St., complainant wishes to check on mother and her two Children. All ok.
  • Follow Up, Old Mill Point, reference to a previous case involving named the subject. Citation issued for Shoplifting. Report made.
  • Dispute, Tall Oaks Dr., met with the complainant. She stated her named friend came and took her cell phone. Named friend was gone when officers arrived. Report Taken.
  • Civil Issue, Lakeview Dr., met with the complainant. He wanted to know what to do on eviction proceedings. Complainant was explained the civil process.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest, Chestnut Lane, Clintavious Ramey and Jossman Howard were arrested following a traffic stop where both subjects were no compliant and combative. Ramey was charged with disorderly conduct. Howard was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana less than 1 oz. Subjects were cited and released from the PD.
  • Dispute, East Church St., two subjects were disputing. One subject has mental problems.  Made contact with subjects at East Church St./Colley St., advised all was ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Magnolia Terrace, reference to juveniles breaking glass at the Harris St. Legion. Subjects were gone when officers arrived. No damage to the building or property. All ok at this time.
  • Mental, Harris St., complainant. Needed information on how to go about having a mental evaluation done on his relative. The civil process was explained to the complainant.
