MPD Reports: Man was tased and arrested when he went on rampage and broke a glass door after being refused on 10-13s

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 4 – 10, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Alarm – Bryant Rd: Homeowner accidentally tripped the alarm. All OK.
• Other Law -Magnolia Ter: Homeowner having an issue with their door. Turned over to Housing Authority.
• Disabled Vehicle – Marathon: Complainant removed a nail from her tire and it was leaking air. Remedies advised, but the complainant stated they would call AAA.
• Reckless Driver – W Spring St; Walmart. In reference to Officer observing a subject driving recklessly through the Walmart parking lot. He was issued a citation for reckless driving. Vehicle was towed by Taylor’s Wrecker Service. Report taken.
• EMS Assist – Will Henrys: In reference to subject falling and suffering trauma to the head. Subject was breathing upon arrival, but was unresponsive. Turned over to EMS for care and transport.
• Alarm – Wellington Dr: Home owner on location, all ok
• Dispute – Green St: In reference to a dispute between two subjects. Due to conflicting stories and one subject’s unwillingness to cooperate due to his level of intoxication, no charges taken. Remedies advised.
• Public Drunk – Will Henrys: Subject arrested for public intox after causing a disturbance at the bar.
• Area Check – Lacy St: While on call 17, multiple gunshots were heard coming from the area of Zone 2. Contact made with a female on Pine Park who stated that the shots possibly came from Lacy St. Area heavily patrolled with negative contact.
• Disturbing the Peace – Atha St: Tow truck observed dropping vehicle off at the residence. All OK.
• Alarm – Atha St Chevron: Employees on location. All OK.
• Dispute – Lacy St: In reference to the complainant advising that a male subject punched a hole in her wall and would not leave when asked. He was gone when officers arrived and the complainant was advised of the TPO process.
• Shots Fired – Ridge Rd: In reference to several complainants stating that shots were fired in the area. Officers located 12 9mm shell casings in the roadway. CID notified.
• Alarm – Gatewood Dr. – In reference to the residence alarm, subject was on location and is family to the owner of the residence. All okay.
• Damage to Property – Ridge Rd. – In reference to an earlier shots fired call. Damage to two vehicles in the parking lot was observed and documented. A bullet was found to be lodged in one of the vehicles, which was towed to MPD for evidence retrieval with the owner’s consent.
• Report of a dog bite- 140 Blaine St. – In reference to the dog bite, Complainant advised the bite happened in Dekalb County. I advised she would need to contact Dekalb County. Walton County animal control responded to Piedmont Walton last night and did a report in reference to the bite.
• Vehicle Unlock – E Spring St – In reference to a Chevrolet. Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 and E Spring – Subject arrested for active warrants out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
• Accident / Arrest – Pavilion Pkwy – Two-vehicle accident with no injuries. One driver was arrested for Driving without a Valid License, fingerprinted, and released on a copy of the citation. A licensed driver arrived and was able to drive him home.
• Suicide Threat – E. 5th St. – In reference to subject making threats to harm herself. Upon Officer arrival, subject stated that she was calmed down and was not a threat to herself. She volunteered a firearm in the residence to be kept in MPD Evidence for Safe Keeping. Remedies advised.
• Civil Issue – Glen Iris Dr. – In reference to the civil issue, I explained to Complainant that his son taking his will from the house they both have equal access to is civil in nature. Remedies provided.
• Dispute – Creekside Way – In reference to adversary on location. The homeowner filed for a TPO against adversary, but the TPO has not formally been served. Remedies advised.
• Unknown Law – E. Fambrough St- In reference to Complainant wanting subject to leave her residence. Wife was heavily intoxicated and subject was gone when officers arrived.
• Unknown Law – Tall Oaks East – Lift driver was refusing to take subject to rehab, then would not leave. The driver left and another driver was called to transport the subject.
• Damage to Property – Louise Dr. – County responded to the call and they advised that the incident occurred in the city at N. Broad St and Mayfield Dr. Report taken.
• Juvenile Runaway – Bridgeport Ln- In reference to juvenile leaving his residence on foot with an unknown DOT. The area was checked with negative contact. The juvenile was listed on GCIC, and a BOLO was issued to surrounding agencies.
• Suspicious Person – HWY 138; Valero. In reference to a male on location that was under the influence of alcohol and unable to drive. Male was turned over to a family member.
• Mental health patient – Hubbard St – Subject was hallucinating and admitted to self-medicating the morning prior. Subject agreed to go to the hospital to receive treatment and was transported by Walton County EMS. Doctor at Piedmont Walton refused to 1013 subject stating that hearing voices and see people was not enough to 1013, Subject was armed with knife when call came in and complainant stated that he was trying to cut the people that were talking to him, this being non real people that he was seeing. Advantage was contacted after Piedmont stated that he was released, they advised they would call back. He went voluntarily by EMS, so he was given a ride back to his residence. While at the residence, Advantage denied a 10-13 for the male. Advantage was made contact with no assistance.
• Suspicious Person – Cherokee Ave- In reference to call above. Subject was going from house to house yelling and beating on the door, He was running down the street yelling. When I observed him, he ran to a residence on Cherokee Ave., and I observed him hit the glass door and heard the glass break from the glass door. Subject was tased due to the flight from me and the violence of busting the glass door. Once the subject complied, he was cuffed behind the back checked for fit. Subject was transported to the Monroe Police Department then to the Walton County Jail without further incident.
