MPD Reports: Medical emergencies, juvenile complaints and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 15 – 22, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle – Walton Road in reference to a brown vehicle, failing to maintain lane. Officers made contact and the driver was having a medical episode. She was transported to Piedmont Walton by Walton EMS. Her vehicle was towed by Taylor’s. 
  • Theft Report – Atha St. Complainant advised his depression medication had been stolen from his home. There was a small amount of damage to the front door. Report taken
  • Dispute – Bridge Pl. Complainant advised that subject was on location when he was not supposed to be. While on location a verbal dispute took place at which time Mr. Richardson spit in complainants’ face. Due to lack of evidence or any other witnesses a warrant was unable to be taken. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Mill Creek Way. – Two subjects had a verbal dispute. Parties were separating as officers arrived.
  • Mental patient – Carver Pl. Complainant advised that his neighbor came over and appeared to be having a mental episode. Contact was made with the subject. It was apparent that she was suffering from a mental disorder. While speaking to the subject she advised she has allowed a couple to stay with her and the female is stealing items from the phone. Subject requested a report.
  • Dispute – Vine St. A subject was involved in a domestic dispute with his sister. During the dispute, he allegedly committed the offense of battery family violence. While being searched incidental to the arrest a baggy was located in his wallet containing suspected methamphetamine. The subject was charged with battery family violence and possession of a schedule II-controlled substance.
  • Found Property – E. Church St. Bicycle found in the roadway in the area of Tall Oaks. Property relocated by Tall Oaks security. All ok
  • Suspicious Person – South Madison and Towler St. Officer observed a white female sitting on the side of the road. Female was identified advised she was waiting to be picked up by a friend. The subject was given a ride to Waffle House on N. Broad.
  • Suspicious Person – N. Broad St. – Subject was sitting on a bench waiting for her sister to pick her up. She was advised that the Pocket Park had better lighting if she wanted to read while sitting on a bench for the morning.
  • Harassment – Atha St. in reference to subject sending harassing text and phone messages to her brother. Remedies were advised. Report taken.
  • Return – Etten Dr. Subject stated she observed the people who took her dog drive by her residence shortly after the police left from an earlier call. She believes the people are now harassing her. Officer attempted to make contact with the complainant from the previous call with negative contact.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. – Captain D’s in reference to a female on location in a green shirt and pink shorts who is not supposed to be on location. Officer made contact with a female subject and her sister. Both females were served with a Criminal Trespass warning to stay away from the property for 2 years in reference to disputing with the manager.
  • EMS Assist – S. Broad St. – Marathon in reference to a man sitting behind the business complaining of chest pain. Subject was located and turned over to EMS.
  • Damage to Property – S. Broad St. – Monroe Police Department in reference to complainants’ vehicle “keyed” last date on Atha St. Jackson believes it to be her neighbor. Report taken
  • Juvenile Complaint – W. Spring St.- Walmart in reference to an 11-year-old left on location. The juvenile was left on location by his grandmother when he refused to leave with her. Grandma returned and retrieved grandson. All okay.
