MPD Reports: Minibike rider injured in collision; explicit photos between 12 and 19-year-old

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 12 – 18, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note, and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Vehicle accident – Plaza Dr. at Ridge Rd. Two vehicles no reports of injury on scene. Report taken. 
  • Theft – Bolton St. Complainant stated that he noticed some of his son’s Clonazepam were missing. At 0700 the correct number of pills were in the bottle. At the time of the call only nine were remaining. He stated the only subjects that were at his house during the day were his roommates. They had a friend over. He believes the pills were taken by his roommates. Report taken.
  • Vehicle Accident – E. Marable St./Union St. Accident between a minibike and van. Subject was the driver of minibike and sustained major injuries. He was transported to Piedmont Athens by EMS. Scene was turned over to GSP due to the severity of injuries.
  • Mental Patient – Tanglewood Drive. Subject was having a mental episode. She was transported by EMS.
  • Lost Item – Harris St. Complainant advised that her grandson left his phone on the back of her car and she drove off with it. She did not want a report but asked for officers to speak with the child.
  • Escort – S. Broad Street. Employee requested an escort to her vehicle.
  • Suspicious person – at Papa Johns. Caller stated a white female had been walking around the parking lot for thirty minutes acting suspicious. Upon Officer arrival the female was not located. The employees of Papa Johns stated she had got into a GMC Yukon and was leaving the parking lot of Pizza Hut. Officer found the vehicle at Wendy’s and had dispatch run the tag. The vehicle was registered to a named person. The Officer observed her driving the vehicle and knew she did not have a valid license. A traffic stop was conducted, and she was taken into custody. She was fingerprinted and released on her citation for driving while license suspended.
  • Dispute – Roosevelt St. Two subjects were involved in a verbal dispute. Both parties were extremely intoxicated. It was apparent no crime had been committed and the parties agreed to get along for the remainder of the night. Report taken.
  • Illegal Parking – on Court St. in reference to a black 2007 Hyundai Tucson. Vehicle was removed by Taylors.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – on Nowell St. – In reference to truck parked in the wood line of cemetery. Owner searching area for antique bottles.
  • Meet With – Stone Creek Dr.: In reference to complainant receiving mail that is soliciting fraudulent activity. He wanted MPD to be aware of it.
  • Domestic Dispute – Bridgeport Lane: Complainant stated that her children and husband were playing fight. She wanted them to stop before it got out of hand. Parties separated and situation mediated. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Wheel house Lane in reference to complainant disputing with her neighbors over parking spaces. The situation was mediated, and complainant was advised to contact the property manager over parking.
  • Found Property – Walton Rd. – In reference to mailbox found in complainants’ yard. Mailbox returned to Lakeview Dr. Homeowner not home to make contact.
  • Agency Assist – E. Marable St. – Mathews Park in reference to complainant requesting EMS due to not knowing where he was. Complainant was stated to have been under the influence of drugs earlier this date and was coming to. Complainant declined medical transport and his father was contacted to pick him up.
  • Welfare Check – Nowell St. – In reference to Complainant wanting welfare check on her children. Kids ok and with guardian.
  • 911 Hang up – Walmart. Female called stating her car was stolen and was in a dispute with someone, then hung up. Dispatch called back and female stated that she did call 911 and then hung up again. Conducted an area check of the parking lot all was ok at this time.
  • Burglary – Store House Ct. Complainant stated that someone broke into her house some time during the night while she was gone. She thinks it was her ex-boyfriend, report taken.
  • Dispute – Applebees. Caller advised that people were fighting, and that one person was armed with a handgun. Officer’s contacted all parties, who advised they were just in a verbal dispute and that no one was armed with a gun.
  • Drunk Driver – E. Church; Andrew Stephens was arrested and charged with DUI alcohol.
  • Dispute – Old Mill Point. Complainant advised that her neighbor kicked her during a dispute. Neighbor admitted to pushing complainant but never kicking her. Complainant did not want to press charges. Remedies given to both parties. All ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Country Club Dr. Complainant advised her 12-year-old daughter has been talking to a 19-year-old male over social media. The two had been sending explicit photos to one another. Usernames were given for the male she had been speaking with. Criminal Investigation Division was notified. Report taken.
