MPD Reports: Missing person reports, stolen vehicle recovered and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 10 – 17, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Stolen Vehicle – Hwy 78 E @ E. Spring St; LPR hit on a vehicle stolen out of Athens Clarke County. Driver arrested for theft by receiving and possession of cocaine. Passenger arrested for outstanding warrants. 
  • Agency Assist – City Limits in reference to assisting Walton County with locating a vehicle that was involved in a possible kidnapping. Officer made contact at W. Fambrough St. where the vehicles tag returns to. Once Officer made contact with occupants in residence the subjects were turned over to Walton County for questioning.
  • Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. Reference to complainant advising that subject asked him for money to buy crack. He stated he did not give her the money. She was gone on arrival on foot. Area check conduct with negative contact.
  • Theft report – Plaza Trace. In reference to subject taking $50 from another subject. Report declined.
  • Dispute – New Lacy St. in reference to two females verbally disputing over a cigarette and money.
  • Entering Auto – Bryant Road. Complainant advised his blue Volkswagen van was entered overnight. Only loose change taken. Report declined. Extra patrol requested.
  • Return – Bryant Rd. Complainant advised he located a Newport cigarette under his carport. No one in his household smokes. Believes it belongs to the suspect.
  • Missing person – Lacy St. Complainant reporting subject missing since last date. He was arrested for felony warrant taken by officer.
  • Missing person – Tall Oaks W. in reference to complainant stating her boyfriend hasn’t returned her calls or returned home since around 15:00 hours last date.
  • Area Check – W. Vine St., Conestoga MHP. Tornado shelter as well as lot 9B cleared due to subject (has warrants) being seen in the area. Negative contact, all ok.
  • Missing person – Walker Dr. Ref to 2-year0old missing for 5 minutes. Located under bed, all ok.
  • Juvenile complaint – Hammond Dr. and Baker St. Ref to two b/m’s in the roadway refusing to move for traffic. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Fight – S. Broad St., CVS. Call actually in the Walgreens parking lot. Dispute – Davis St. Dispute between male and female. Report taken.
  • Follow up – Country Club Dr. HHR involved in above Walgreens fight arrived on location. Subject arrested for battery.
  • Damage to Property – MLK Jr. Blvd; Applebees – Vehicle opened door into another car. Report taken.
  • Hit and Run – Complainant advised subject used her vehicle to attack while she was in her vehicle, due to conflicting stories no charges were taken, case pending Criminal Investigation Division investigation.
  • Juvenile Runaway – Hwy 78; Walton Truck Stop – Complainant reported her daughter (15-year-old) ran away on 10/12/2019 from the Valero at E. Spring and Madison Ave. Juvenile returned to mother during shift.
  • Dispute – Green St.; Two females disputing over one of them walking in others’ yard. The situation was mediated.
  • Dispute – Masters Dr. – Complainant stated she wanted subject removed. Subject given a criminal trespass warning and he left the residence.
  • Theft – E. Spring St. – Spring St. Laundry in reference to the theft of clothing. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Felker St. – In reference to questions about eviction and cats living in residence. Information given.
  • Dispute – Felker St. Ongoing civil dispute, parties were advised of remedies.
