MPD Reports: Missing student, daughter turned in for driving without license

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 25 – 29, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Issue, Douglas St., the complainant on location needing to get property out of the residence. Contacted former roommate and all property was retrieved. All ok.
  • Theft, Mill St., complainant stated that his SSC, Jamaican passport, Immigration notice letter, and expired FL ID card were taken this date between midnight and noon. Named subject is suspected of taking the items. Report taken.
  • Burglary in Progress, King St., reference to a black male wearing a white hoodie with black shorts. Officer made contact with a subject matching the description. He identified himself. All was ok. The subject was trying to get into his mother’s house. Mother was on location.
  • Theft, Storehouse Ct., met with a complainant who stated a male by the name of “Little Man” stole her cell phone while he was at her house. She could not provide his full legal name or a location to try to find him and stated she did not want to press charges or file a report at this time. All ok.
  • Stolen Vehicle, Towler St., met with mother who stated her daughter stole her car while she was asleep. She stated her daughter does not have permission to use the vehicle, does not have access to the keys, and does not have a license. She stated she did not want to take charges on her daughter for the theft but would like to see her arrested for driving without a license.  She was located and admitted to taking to car to Waffle House on North Broad Street.  She was arrested for driving without a license, fingerprinted, and turned over to the jail on a copy of the citation.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, East Marable St., Monroe Housing Authority, reference to named subject constantly calling and harassing the staff at Monroe Housing Authority. Report taken.
  • Welfare Check, Mountain View Dr., reference to complainant stating her roommate had been abusing her son. Officer spoke with the roommate who advised she did spank her child on his behind. Officer checked the son and did not observe any marks. Report taken
  • Welfare Check, Wheelhouse Lane, reference to checking on an elderly male in a wheelchair that the complainant last saw three weeks ago. Officers made contact with the elderly male who was ok.
  • Meet with Officer, South Broad St., Monroe Police Department, reference to 38D (drug) activity on East Church Street. Mother wanted to inform officers that she believes her daughter has been getting meth from the residence on the corner East Church St. and Wall St.
  • Missing Juvenile, Double Spring Church Rd., MAHS in reference to a male student last seen at 9 am this date at MAHS. The student left school without permission, wearing red jogging pants and red/blue flip flops.
