MPD Reports: Molestation charges initiated after juvenile found on location

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 2 – 9, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad St., Monroe Auto Sales. In reference to a subject being on location. He was advised to vacate the premises. All ok. 
  • Suspicious Person – N. Broad / GW Carver Dr. In reference to a white male attempting to flag down a vehicle. Officer made contact with the male who was identified. He advised he had just been “jumped” by two black males in the area. While speaking to him, Officer observed a bulge in his left sock. When asked what the bulge was, he admitted to it being methamphetamine. He was placed in custody.
  • Welfare Check – Alcovy St. In reference to Athens Clarke County Police Department wanting a welfare check conducted on juvenile. They believed her to be on location. Officers made contact with a subject who advised she was not on location. He allowed Officers to search the residence where they subsequently located the juvenile inside the residence. She was turned over to her mother and the subject was placed under arrest for contributing to the delinquency of a minor for picking her up and bringing her to his residence. Criminal Investigation Division notified of child molestation. Further investigation will be conducted. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person) Monroe Police Department parking lot – A subject was asking if the front office of the PD was open. He was locked out of his house and was wanting somewhere to sit and stay warm until his sister got up at their house and let him in. He decided to go back to the Huddle House and wait there.
  • Theft – MPD. in reference to complainant reporting her dog missing, possibly stolen, Report made.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Kings St.: In reference to mothers’ son refusing to go to school. The situation was mediated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – S. Madison Ave. St. in reference to a black dodge passenger vehicle unable to maintain speeds. Made contact with the subject who was parked in the parking lot of the Cotton Mills. She advised that she was recently released from the hospital due to multiple issues and she was given meds which she took earlier this date. The subject was given a ride home to Tanglewood. Her vehicle was parked on location until later this date.
  • Damage to Property – Lacy Street. in reference to complainant stating subject broke windows, knocked holes in walls. Report made.
  • Damage To Property – N. Madison Ave. In reference to a Foot Stone marker damaged. Report Made
  • Dispute – Harris St. in reference to a subject on location hitting the complainant’s vehicle with a beer bottle. Complainant advised he did not want to press charges but wanted a Criminal Trespass form completed. The subject was issued a criminal trespass warning from the location.
  • Civil Dispute – S. Madison Ave. in reference to a complainant and a subject disputing over money and a vehicle. The complainant requested a report, and he was advised of civil remedies. The subject had a Failure to Appear warrant and was taken into custody. Report made.
  • Welfare Check – Springer Lane in reference to checking the welfare of subject. Was unable to make contact but exhausted all options via calling numbers to relatives and the hospital. The residence was secured and there were no foul odors coming from the residence, nothing further.
