MPD Reports: Monroe PD seek entering auto and burglary suspects

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 10 – 17, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. In addition, the Monroe Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is in the process of working to solve several entering autos and burglary cases in the area of Edwards Street and Glen Iris Drive.   • Damage to Property – Bryant Rd. (Athens tech): Complainant advised she thought she struck a mailbox with her vehicle. She stated unsure where the incident took place. Had no damage to her vehicle. Area check. Negative contact. 
  • Dispute – Lacy St. in reference to complainant accusing the subject of owing her money. The subject advised that he doesn’t know what the complainant is talking about. The complainant was advised to stay away from residence on Lacy St.
  • Saturated patrol – W. Vine St., Conestoga MHP. Ref to Monroe Utilities cutting off power to the entire trailer park, all ok. (A saturated patrol is when a large number of police vehicles are sent to a small location)
  • Citizen flag down – W. Vine St., Conestoga MHP. Elderly female advising when the rest of her property would be moved, all ok.
  • Found Property – East Church Street. Made contact with the complainant who found several bags up against the business behind a bush. While talking to the complainant the owner of the bags approached to grab her bags and leave. The subject is homeless.
  • Harassing Phone Calls – S. Broad St. in reference to subject sending threatening text messages to complainant. Report made.
  • Dispute – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (Tractor Supply): Complainant stated that a male subject was talking to himself. He was identified and resides at Lacy St. Subject was given a courtesy ride to his residence. All ok.
  • Meet with – PD. Grandmother advised that she needed to get her granddaughter’s medication, after her mother was arrested. She was advised how.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – E. Washington St. – In reference to homeless female sleeping and loitering at Synovus Bank. The subject left the business.
  • Wanted person – Alcovy St. Kenneth Peters on location, with probation warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to the Walton County Jail free of incident.
  • Assault – Piedmont Walton. Caller called from a 911 only phone stating that she had been assaulted and was on the way to the ER. Nothing further at this time.
  • Dispute – Plantation Drive. Made contact with the complainant who is concerned about her brother hurting their mother. I spoke with both subjects who advised everything is ok and there was no need for the police. Complainants both advised that the subject has mental issues and they want him to get mental help. Nothing further.
  • Theft – Ridge Rd. Parts from a parked car taken, report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Vine St.: Complainant advised that a white male no shirt with gloves on taking items. Officer had contact at S. Broad and wood line next to S. Side Park.
  • Dispute – Plaza Trace. Verbal dispute over a civil issue between neighbors. Upon officers’ arrival parties agreed to separate and their options.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. The complainant wanted her boyfriend to leave their residence. The Complainant was explained how to evict her boyfriend.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. Verbal argument between the complainant and boyfriend. Arguing over one being intoxicated.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. Couple continuing to argue and a physical altercation occurred. Kendell Smith arrested for Battery (Family Violence) Cruelty to Children 3rd, and Obstruction.
  • Entering Auto – Ridge Rd in reference to one vehicle entered and a cell phone and miscellaneous items taken by three young black males. The area was checked and a perimeter set up and K9 performed a patrol route. Units walked the wood line and searched the walking trails with no contact. The vehicle was dusted for prints but no usable prints located. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Ridge Rd. While searching the area for entering auto suspects a black male, Maurice Malcom, was seen running from W. Monroe Villas to an awaiting vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and a male was detained and identified. His story was verified and found not to be related to the entering auto, however, he had an active warrant for violation of parole and was arrested.
  • Dispute – Tall Oaks E. Mother was complaining about an adult child saying cuss words. Upon speaking with all parties, it was discovered that the adult children are evicting the mother and she is upset. Parties were explained their options.
  • Return Call – Tall Oaks E. Mother was requesting different officers to the home due to being unsatisfied with the explanation given to her by initial officers. She was again advised of her options.
  • Theft – Hwy. 78 Walton Truck Stop. in reference to a gas drive off. Report Taken.
  • Dispute – Tall Oaks E. Reference to complainant verbally disputing with her mother and wanting her put out. Both parties were re-advised of the eviction process.
