MPD Reports: More incidents of dogs left in hot vehicles, theft and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period 15 – 22, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Michael Cir.: Subject disputing with 15-year-old brother. Mother wanted subject to leave. The subject was waiting on a ride. Situation mediated. 
  • Juvenile Complaint – Tanglewood Dr. – In reference to the complainant having issues with her son not getting up for school. Son was gone on arrival. Advised on options.
  • Child Custody/Warrant/Arrest – S. Broad St.: Spoke to the complainant in reference to the custody of her kids that are staying with their father at S. Madison Ave. and that he would not allow them to leave and that he had a firearm. There is no prior existing court order. Father had warrants for Family Violence-Battery and Cruelty to Child 3rd. Went to S. Madison Ave. placed him under arrest. Contacted Probation too. He gave consent to search and located a bolt action rifle with bullets, and also located a baggy of white substance suspected of being meth. Additional warrants for Possession Sch II and Possession Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm during commission of a crime.
  • Dispute – Meadowview Dr. – In reference to complainant saying she had a dispute with subject over meat when he put his hands around her neck. No signs of injury and no contact with the subject. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Tanglewood Lane – In reference to complainant finding a named subject in her house. The complainant did not want police action and will seek a protection order.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Greenwood Dr. – In reference to the subject sending explicit pictures to boyfriend.
  • Warrant – Alcovy St.: The had a probation warrant. He became upset in the back of patrol car and struck his head on the cage. EMS was called to evaluate. Jail refused the subject and he was taken to Piedmont Walton for clearance.
  • Failure to Maintain Lane – Hwy 138 W. Spring St.; In reference to Vehicle Failure to maintain lane. The vehicle left the city limits. Negative contact. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Dispute – Lacy St.: Complainant a subject who lives with him got mad and beat his car with a shovel. Warrant to be taken on the subject for Criminal Damage to Property-2nd and Simple Battery Family Violence.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Wheelhouse Lane: Kid on a dirt bike. Advised for him not to be in others yards.
  • Animal Complaint – Walmart. Woman on location had left a dog in her car. Animal control was contacted and the scene was turned over to them. During the incident, another subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and released on a copy of the citation.
  • Downtown Foot Patrol – During Foot patrol Orange Mustang from earlier Walton County S.O. Be on Look Out was observed. The vehicle stopped and a missing Juvenile was found to be driving and she was cited for driving outside license restrictions and turned over to the County.
  • Dispute – Green St. No dispute. A subject was arrested for outstanding Violation of Probation out of WCSO.
  • Other Law – N. Broad St. – Cotton Cafe. Complainant requested an officer to be present while firing an irate employee. She was advised to call back when he is on location.
  • Loitering – at Piedmont Walton in reference to a subject refusing to leave. The subject was taken to G W Carver Homes.
  • Warrant Served – Madison County Jail in reference to a subject being on location with a city probation warrant. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident. Report taken.
  • Theft Report – Plaza Trace. The complainant stated that her 16-year-old son stole her jewelry this morning and the family’s XBOX 1 two weeks ago. A Juvenile Complaint will be completed.
  • Stalking – Fawnfield Dr. Complainant stated that a subject from California requested to video chat with her 9-year-old daughter on Facebook. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Launius Ave. The complainant stated that a B/M in a green shirt came to her residence stating that he was in trouble and wanted in her house. The description given matched that of a subject from earlier this date. Officers conducted an extensive area check with negative contact.
  • Burglary Report – Stokes St. in reference to a complainant advising the shed on his property was broken into and a Honda push mower was stolen. Criminal Investigation Division was notified. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to a Hit-and-run on row 8. The suspect vehicle was located at Wellington Dr. Robert Teem was arrested for hit-and-run. He was fingerprinted and released on a copy of the citation.
  • Agency Assist – Hwy 138 / W. Spring St. in reference to standing by with Georgia State Patrol for a vehicle search. All Okay.
  • Dispute – Sporty Lane / Baron Dr. in reference to a subject calling 911 and stating 4 black males were attempting to jump him. Area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Animal Complaint – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to a canine being left in a vehicle. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
