MPD Reports: Mother turns in 13-year-old son for stealing a phone, man reports he was jumped and stabbed

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 26 to Aug. 1, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Chestnut Lane – Dispute between the complainant and Therce Williams. Therce Williams was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Athens-Clarke. 
  • Suicide Threats – Plantation Dr. in reference to complainant stating a subject was attempting to kill herself by taking pills. Subject was on location with family and stated she did not want to kill herself and the complainant was mad at her for breaking up with him.
  • Juvenile Complaint – W. Marable St. in reference to complainant locating a phone belonging to someone else in her 13-year-old son’s room. Son admitted to stealing the phone from victims’ residence in the county.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. in reference to complainant disputing with his ex-girlfriend. and having questions about the eviction process. Supplement added to previous report.
  • Domestic Dispute – Magnolia Terrace: In reference to daughter disrespecting her mother. Situation mediated parties separated. Report taken.
  • Domestic – Ridge Rd: Complainant stated subject, who she lives with, was physically violent with her. There were no signs of a physical altercation or physical marks on the complainant. The subject did obtain an eviction order for complainant. Parties separated. Report taken.
  • Illegal Dumping – Cherry Hill Rd. – In reference to a White Ram van attempting to dump a large tv. Told to leave by manager.
  • Harassment – S. Broad St.: Complainant stated that her sister keeps on contacting her after she has been told to stop communicating with her. Report Taken.
  • Damage to Property – S. Broad St.: The complainant advised his vehicle was damaged in the parking lot of Home Depot last date. Report taken.
  • Theft -Cook Place – In reference to items missing from the house belonging to the complainant. Items taken by the subject. Unable to contact subject at this time. Report taken.
  • Assist Agency – Cook Street in reference to assisting animal control issuing a citation
  • Shoplifting – Walmart. Subject on location skip scanning. He was arrested and transported to Monroe PD and released on copy of citation.
  • Harassment – Gatewood Way. Spoke with the complainant who stated she had a report done because her sister is harassing her. She went to take a Temporary Protection Oder but was denied and wanted to know what she could do at this point.
  • Harassment – Quality Foods. The complainant stated that while she was at the store shopping a male associate walked up to her granddaughter and began throwing money on the ground as if she was an adult dancer. The employee stated the female was dancing in a vulgar manner and he thought it would be funny to throw money on the ground and did not mean to offend anyone. Complainant requested a report be made.
  • Dispute – Dairy Queen. Parties on location advised they were not in a dispute. They were talking to their 13-year-old son and working on co-parenting. All okay at this time.
  • Animal Complaint – Cook Pl; Subjects were trying to pick up a k9 they believed was a malnourished stray. They were advised to contact animal control on Monday.
  • Dispute – in reference to a domestic dispute between two subjects. The situation was mediated and report taken.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. Complainant was intoxicated and stated her daughter locked her out of the house. The situation was mediated, and the door was unlocked. All okay.
  • Assault – Davis St. in reference to complainant saying he was jumped and stabbed by multiple individuals. Complainant did have a large laceration to his ear and was taken to the hospital by EMS.
