MPD Reports: Multiple victims of fraud with Walmart gift cards reported

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 13 – 20, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Traffic Stop – N. Broad St. at Monroe Food Mart. A white Dodge truck was stopped for a brake light violation. It was determined that the driver, Jarvis Card had a Failure to Appear warrant out of the County. He was taken into custody and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Road Blocked – Pine Circle in reference to a white truck parked near the hill crest. Officer made contact with a silver Nissan Frontier parked in front of 132 Pine Circle. Contacted the registered owner via phone who advised he would have someone en route to move the vehicle.
  • Power Lines Down / Accident – on Mayfield Dr. in reference to a vehicle striking power lines that had fallen across the road. Report taken.
  • Wanted Person – Alcovy St. – GA Probation Management in reference to Timothy Jackson on location with an active probation violation warrant. Jackson was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Suspicious Person – Birch St. in reference to subject walking in and out of the roadway. The subject was intoxicated and transported to his residence on Glen Iris Drive where he was turned over to the family.
  • Dispute – Breedlove Dr. – Ridgeview. Subject disputing with Ridgeview Staff over not releasing her daughter. The situation was mediated.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Home Depot. A subject attempted to shoplift flooring items. She was arrested, fingerprinted, and released on cthe opy of citation.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Marable St. in reference to a B/M dancing in the street and jumping in front of cars. Officers made contact with subject who was rolling in the grass and could not stand still. He was transported to Piedmont Walton for an evaluation.
  • Traffic Stop – Marable St. in reference to a black Honda Accord. Bendrick Kelly fled the traffic stop in the black Honda Accord which was determined to be stolen out of Athens Clarke County. Kelly fled down Birch Street and Officer lost contact. Warrants to be taken against Kelly for Theft by Receiving Stolen Vehicle, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Driving without a License, and Reckless Driving.
  • Fraud – via phone. Complaintant from Clarksville, TN advised her Walmart account was hacked and $45.55 was stolen from her account and placed on a Walmart gift card. She said part of the money was spent at the Monroe Walmart on June 6, 2019. She stated her local jurisdiction would not help her and requested help from Monroe PD. A follow up was conducted at Walmart to discover there have been multiple occurrences with multiple victims on multiple days. Report taken.
  • Suicidal Subject – Pierce St. in reference to the subject. She was taken to Piedmont-Walton for an evaluation.
  • Stabbing – E. Church St., Jack Peters. Cinton Foster (Cowboy) stabbed a victim. Victim transported to Piedmont Walton. Foster arrested on Pine Park.  Joint Operations searched area on foot for a knife with negative contact.
  • Mental Person – S. Madison Ave. Private care home.  Reference to subject threatening to harm her roommate. Subject stated she only planned on defending herself if her roommate attacked her. Both females advised they had no plans on harming the other tonight. Subject refused a transport to the hospital. The caregiver was advised of remedies. Report requested.
  • Dispute – Green St. – In reference to complainant wanting to keep subject from driving his vehicle due to being intoxicated. Subject went back into the house.
