MPD Reports: Neighbor expresses concern over care of dogs while owner in jail

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 19 – 26, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Discharging Firearm – New Lacy St. – During the course of the investigation it was found that several shell casings were found in the roadway. The subjects then ran from the area. Video of the shooting was captured at Wall St. Criminal Investigation Division was notified while Officers were on scene. Officer was able to determine the identity of one of the subjects on the scene. Officer was able to locate the suspect at his residence on Springer Lane. He admitted to being on location but did not know who was shooting. Criminal Investigation Division was notified throughout the night of the findings. Report made. 
  • Dispute – Green St.- In reference to Complainant cussing at neighbors. Situation mediated
  • Damage To Property – N. Broad St. (Jackson Realty): Complainant stated that someone damage the crawl space wooden door. Wanted the incident to be documented. Report taken.
  • Damage To Property – Sweet Gum Dr.: Complainant stated that subject damaged her T.V. She wants a Criminal Trespass to be issued to him. He was gone on arrival. Report Taken.
  • Follow Up – Sweet Gum Dr.: Subject was on location and a Criminal Trespass was issued to him. Reference to call above.
  • Harassment – MPD – In reference to a dispute between two subjects on the previous night at MAHS
  • Counterfeit – W. Spring St. Suspect was located after walking to several shops in the area and allegedly using fake $100 bills. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail
  • Counterfeit – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (tractor Supply) – Christopher Morgan went to staff and passed a counterfeit $100 bill. Christopher was arrested for multiple forgeries cases.
  • Damage to Property – Ridge Rd: Complainant came out of her residence and discovered that two tires were cut and flatten. Report taken.
  • TPO – W. Spring St. in reference to a Temporary Protection Order violation by a subject on another while he was in ICU. The suspect was gone on arrival and Walton County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to locate him.
  • Animal Complaint – Plantation Dr. Complainant requesting a report made via telephone concerning her neighbor getting arrested and nobody looking after the dogs at the home while the owner was in jail. Several remedies are already in motion and were explained to the complainant. She still requested a report be made to document her concern for the dogs’ welfare.
