MPD Reports: Officer helps elderly man get desk into home; 88-year-old’s vehicle turned over to competent driver

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 25 – March 4, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Arrest – Alcovy Street – Female subject had a warrant for her arrest. She was placed under arrest and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office. 

Suspicious Person – Magnolia Terrace previous suspicious person call. Female reported to be back on location driving around. 

911 Hang-up – Complainant verbally disputing with subject over a Facebook post. Mediated and separated. 

Scam – Rose Ison Terrace: Complainant being scammed out of $298.23 USD to an individual who was representing Georgia Power Company. Complainant wanted it to be documented. Report made. 

Suspicious Vehicle – West Spring Street / Pinecrest Drive. In reference to a white truck unable to maintain lane. Unable to catch up to the vehicle. Turned over to WCSO. 

EMS Assist – West Spring Street at O’Reillys Auto Parts: subject falling from a vehicle in the parking lot and not moving. One intoxicated female arrested for giving officer’s a false name. 

Animal Complaint -King Street: In reference to a dog chasing kids in the area and possibly biting one. Contact with dog, non-aggressive. No one was bitten. Dog returned to owner. Turned over to animal control. 

Dispute – Lopez Ln domestic involving mother hitting her daughter. The mother was arrested for Cruelty to Children in the 1st and three counts Cruelty to Children in the 3rd. 

Dispute – W Spring St. In reference to a male subject on location disputing with Hospital staff. He was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threats, Disorderly Conduct, Felony Obstruction of a Peace Officer. Warrants taken. Use Of Force report filed. 

Damage to Property – Hitachi. Complainant, an employee, returned to his vehicle after his shift and found both passenger tires flat. Both valve stems had been removed from tires. Report taken. 

Damage to property – Magnolia Terr. Complainant reports someone slashed her tires and threw glue on her vehicle overnight. 

Dispute – King St. Complainant and his ex girlfriend having a argument. Report was made. Complainant was made aware of remedies. 

Traffic stop – Breedlove Dr. and McDaniel St. Ref to 88-year-old getting turned over to a licensed driver, medical eval for 27 requested, all ok. 

Theft report – South broad St., MPD. Complainant reports jewelry taken from his vehicle while shopping at Walmart yesterday. 

Dispute – E Spring St. Monroe Motor Inn. In reference to the complainant advising that a subject is throwing items outside of the room. Subject left without incident. No FV crime occurred. 

Dispute – W Spring St. Burger King. In reference to a subject in a black Crown Victoria making threats towards employees. Situation mediated. Subjects sent on their way. 

Traffic Stop – US 78 at Cedar Ridge Rd. Officer observed a vehicle speeding and failing to maintain lane. During the investigation it was determined that the driver, was driving under the influence. He was taken into custody and released from the Police Department on copies of citations. 

Entering auto – Plaza Trace. Complainant stated her vehicle was entered on 2/25/2021 and $5 worth of change was taken. 

Other law – Wellington Dr. – In reference to observing an elderly man struggling to get a desk into his house. I was able to offer my help to him, by helping him carry this desk into his house and place it where he wanted it.
