MPD Reports: Ongoing issues with dementia patients; domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 8 – 15, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Domestic Dispute – Highland Creek Dr. In reference to complainant and a female subject. Complainant advised both parties are intoxicated. During the investigation it was determined that the female subject committed the acts of battery family violence and criminal trespass. She was gone when officers arrived. Warrants taken. 

Dispute – Lopez Ln. No domestic dispute occurred, a male caller stated that a dispute was going on between a mother and daughter on location. Upon officer arrival it was determined that the female on location ex-boyfriend called 911. During the investigation, it was found that he has a possible Temporary Protection Organization against him from the female on location. Local agencies will be contacted for more information. Follow up to be conducted by officer. 

Suspicious Person – South Broad St. and Court St. Ref to a white male that seemed disoriented in the area. Subject leaves his nursing home often and forgets how to get back. He was given a ride back to S. Madison Ave. and the nurse was made aware. All was ok. 

Request to meet – West Spring St., Quality Foods. In reference to McDaniel Street and the resident having Alzheimer. Family members have been advised of solutions numerous times and were advised once again. 

Assault Report – Booth Dr. Ref to an incident that happened behind Chevron on East Church St. involving a subject. Victim refused to cooperate, Turned over to EMS. 

Damage to property – Tanglewood Dr. Ref to an unknown person breaking a sideview mirror off of her car. 

Dispute – Pine View Dr. Civil Dispute between husband and wife. Parties mediated and advised of civil process. 

Dispute – Reed St., Exceptional Community Service. Complainant reported a mental health patient, causing issues. Complainant appeared calm and lucid upon officer’s arrival. Situation mediated. 

Agency assist – McDaniel St. Mobile Crisis Team on location requesting personal protection due to call volume at the residence. A mental evaluation was signed, and EMS transported the subject to Piedmont Walton. 

Dispute – Harris St. In reference to the complainant advising subjects on scene are trying to fight them. Verbal dispute between complainant and mother’s sister. All parties separated. Remedies were advised. All ok. 

Dispute – Northview Dr. In reference to the complainant advising that they live on Ford St and they have been hearing yelling coming from the Northview Dr area for the past few hours. Noise was due to a party being held at a residence on Northview Dr. All ok. 

Dispute – W Highland Ave. In reference to the complainant advising that there is a male on scene that is refusing to leave the residence after being asked to. Officer attempted to identify the subject, the subject ignored officers and kept walking away. The subject was detained and given multiple opportunities by officers to give his name and DOB. Walton County Sheriff’s Office assisted MPD and used their rapid ID scanner to identify the subject. He was taken into custody for OCGA 16-10-24(a), Obstruction. Warrant taken. 

Other Law – Hannah Ln. In reference to the complainant advising that their nephew has been living with them for over a year and the parents have advised the complainant that they are now going to come pick their child up. Complainant had concerns about the living conditions where the Mother resides in Atlanta. Requested a report to be made. 

Fight – N Broad St. Da Grand. In reference to a male and female in a black Challenger. Upon Officers arrival it was determined that two females were having a verbal argument. No physical altercation took place. 

Other law – Walker Dr. Complainant requested a report of harassment, complainant is an uninvolved third party. Report taken. 

Dispute – Landers St. In reference to complainant not wanting his wife to bring their kids to wife’s parents house because they do drugs. The was situation mediated. 

Dispute – Lakeview Drive. Ref to complainant and his wife having a disagreement with their kids. They were counseled and given advise. Parties were mediated and ok. 

Dispute – East Marable St., Hotspot. Ref to two black males disputing over $500.00 dollars and living situations. 

Other Law – South Broad St., Anna’s Hair. Complainant reported seeing her stolen vehicle from two years ago. Upon further investigation it was determined that it was not her vehicle she saw. 

Recovered stolen vehicle – Mayfield Dr. and North Broad St. Recovered stolen trailer out of Athens- Clarke County. Impounded at Jay’s per ACCPD request.
