MPD Reports: Parents and kids in large street fight over kids’ social media posts

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 12 – 19, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Entering Auto – 4th St. Complainant stated his Dodge truck was entered sometime last night and his brown leather wallet was taken. Report taken. 
  • Mental Patient – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to a mental patient attempting to leave the hospital. Occurred while officers were on the scene for another call. 1926369
  • Fight – Store House Ct. – In reference to juveniles being disrespectful to adults in this location. Juveniles were advised to stay off the property of Store House Court.
  • Dispute – GW Carver Dr. at George Walton Homes – In reference to juveniles fighting on location. Teenagers in a black car and burgundy car fighting on location. Gone on arrival prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Juvenile Problem – E. Church St. – In reference to two subjects being attacked by a 13-year-old. Juvenile Complaint filed.
  • Dispute – Etten reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects over money. The situation was mediated.
  • Traffic Stop – Plaza Dr./Plaza Trace. Officer conducted a traffic stop due to a non-working headlight. During the stop, it was found the driver did not have a valid driver license. He was placed in custody and fingerprinted. He was released on a copy of citation for driving while license suspended.
  • Disturbing the Peace – Westcreek Circle in reference to a party with loud music. Officer made contact and advised that the music be turned down.
  • Alarm – Shortstop. Upon Officer arrival, the front door was found to be busted. After clearing the business, it was also found that a side window was busted. A key holder was notified as well as a Criminal Investigation Division. Detective responded to the scene. In the video a subject is seen wearing black pants, black hooded jacket, gray and red shoes, black ski mask and black gloves use a hammer to break into the store. The subject does not take anything and quickly exits the store traveling east. The shoes appeared to be Nike’s possibly air max.
  • Entering Auto – Walton St. – In reference to red Kia Optima left unlocked and entered. Blueish Taurus 38 revolver stolen. Pair of gloves found near seen.
  • Juvenile Runaway – at MPD – In reference to complainant stating her 16-year-old daughter left Saturday night and has not returned. Placed on GCIC as a runaway.
  • Theft – Plaza Drive – In reference to complainant stating a backpack blower was taken from a maintenance unit after August 20th. Placed on GCIC as stolen.
  • Found Property – Recreation Blvd – In reference to multiple SS Cards located in the woods. Report Taken.
  • Agency Assist – Chestnut Lane – In reference to Social Circle PD needing to make contact with a subject at a residence. No contact.
  • Firearms – S. Broad St.: Complainant advised that they heard gunfire at this location. Negative contact.
  • Follow up – at the boys and girls club – In reference to a runaway juvenile.
  • Sexual Assault – Towler St.: Complainant stated that a subject had sex with her daughter. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – N. Broad St. – In reference to a subject on location stealing items. The subject was arrested for shoplifting and obstruction and released to a parent.
  • Dispute – Tigers Way – In reference to Amanda Lee saying her neighbor has cut trees down on her property. Advised of options.
  • Trespassing -Wayne St. at new building construction. In reference to a complaint of juveniles playing in the job site. No contact.
  • Entering Auto – Felker Park S. Madison Ave. Two males arrested after breaking into a car in Felker Park.
  • Fraud – Home depot. A subject on location thinking that someone he rode with from Athens gave him a fake check to buy tools. He did not know the other males name, and requested a report to clear himself.
  • Fight – Garden Ct. A large group of kids and adults fighting in the roadway. The fight started when two 12-year-old females were disputing over social media post, while the kids started to fight the adults then jumped in.
  • Area check – N. Broad St. Caller requested an area check on N Broad for a silver passenger car. Caller stated that she was unable to contact her boyfriend and he was last seen in that area. Male was located at the Walton County jail.
