MPD Reports: Passing cars shot with pellets, suicidal threats and drug issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 21 – 28, 2020. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suicide threat – Walker Dr. Complainant called 911 and stated that her son said that he was going to shoot himself. Mother took son to RidgeView for a voluntary mental evaluation. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Ridge Road -Anonymous caller stated a red Camaro was in the area revving its engine with three subjects inside, smoking marijuana. Contact made with the vehicle and subjects probable cause search conducted.
  • Dispute – Storehouse Ct. – Two subjects in a gray Jetta verbally disputing. All okay, situation mediated.
  • 1056 Person – Ridgeview. Reference to a male subject in the parking lot. Ridgeview would not accept the patient due to the level of intoxication. Female on location transported male to Piedmont Walton POV.
  • Prowler – Storehouse Ct. – Subject called in reference to an unknown male knocking on her door asking to talk to her. She is a mental health patient and flagged.
  • EMS Assist – Lacy St. Reference to a subject having difficulty breathing. Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute- Piedmont Walton Hospital. Reference to a combative patient. The patient was cooperative and compliant prior to Officers arrival.
  • Loud Music – Cook Pl. Caller advised that a vehicle was on location playing music. Located a small party – the music was turned down.
  • Suspicious Person – Tanglewood Dr./Tanglewood Lane -Anonymous complainant stated a black male was looking in trash cans and vehicles. Contact made with the subject who is a mental health patient. He was advised to return home.
  • Traffic stop/Arrest – E. Church St; Two subjects were arrested for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop.
  • Suspicious Person – Suzie’s Wings. Two juveniles were out riding bikes. Made contact with grandfather and returned them home.
  • Harassment – Hwy 78 and Aycock Ave. Complainant advised that he is from Sylvester, GA, but is a truck driver and currently in Monroe. The complainant was calling about his ex-fiancé. Advised complainant to call the police department where they reside. Handled by phone.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – McDaniel St. & Breedlove Dr. Black Dodge Charger struck stop sign, officers made contact
  • Follow Up – E. Spring St. at The Valero. The manager requested additional patrols in reference to a burglary they recently had. Requested back door checked throughout the night.
  • Dispute – Cook St., Civil issue over the purchase of a van and the possession of its title. Remedies advised.
  • Theft Report – S. Broad St. in reference to the complainant’s foster daughter taking three cell phones from DFCS office. Report taken.
  • Entering Auto – Meadow Walk Dr. No entering auto occurred. All ok
  • Damage to Property – G.W. Carver Dr. Complainant advising juveniles are continuously damaging her vehicle. Report taken.
  • Theft Report – Breedlove Dr. Complainant advised his handgun was stolen from his safe that he forgot to lock while he was on vacation. The handgun was entered into GCIC. Report taken
  • Suspicious Person – Manor Pl. Subject on location reported to be going into neighbor’s yards. The subject appeared to have taken narcotics. The subject was advised to stay at his residence.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – N. Broad St./ E. Highland Ave. Subject was reported to be reckless driving in a silver GMC. Contact was made with the subject. All ok
  • Suspicious Person – E. Church St. In reference to a homeless subject sitting on the complaints’ front porch. The subject was fixing his bags due to them breaking. The subject was sent on his way. All ok
  • Unknown Problem – S. Broad St. in reference to a female passed out in a vehicle. Contact was made with the subject. She appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. She was turned over to EMS.
  • Suicidal threats – Tanglewood Ln. Complainant advised he was having thoughts of harming himself and wanted to go to the hospital to get help. The complainant was transported to the hospital by MPD. All ok
  • Burglary – Carwood Dr. Call unfounded. All ok.
  • Hit & Run – Tanglewood Dr. Complainant advised her vehicle was parked in the driveway in front of her home when it was struck by a newer model Tahoe white in color driven by a female subject. Report taken
  • Shots Fired – W Spring St; Haven Inn. In reference to several subjects shooting a pellet gun at passing vehicles. Contact was made with the subjects. All subjects were advised on remedies and sent on their way. Report taken for documentation.
