MPD Reports: Person found unresponsive in bathroom, domestic disputes and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 15 – 22, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Assault – Ash Lane in reference to complainant reporting that his daughter was struck by a known female while fighting with another teenage girl. Report taken. 
  • Agency Assist – Ridge Rd. in reference to assisting Monroe Fire Department at Skyline Trace Apartments in reference to a subject pulling the fire alarm in all the buildings.
  • Harassing Phone Calls – S. Broad St. – MPD. Complainant advised that a male in South Carolina needed help and inquired for money. She was once again advised it was a scam.
  • Wanted Subject – Booth Dr. Possible suspect from Housing authority armed robbery located and taken to PD for an interview. Subject had a warrant and was taken to jail. No new charges.
  • Theft Report – Harris St. – In reference to a stolen bicycle. Complainant advised he was painting a house for a friend when he returned to retrieve his bike, he saw that it was missing.
  • Assault – W. Creek. Complainant advised his son attacked him. Witness advised this statement was untrue, and that complainant jumped on son. Son was gone on arrival.
  • Animal Complaint – W. Washington St. Complainant advised that while walking his dog to the downtown area two dogs came from this address and attacked his dog. Officer spoke to the owner of the two dogs who advised his dogs were outside and not on a runner or leash. Animal control responded to the scene.
  • Request to return – in the area of Classic Trl. Anonymous comp advised that a B/M in red shorts, black shirt returned to the area and was waving a handgun in the air. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Juvenile Complaint – E. Washington St. Complainant advised her 15-year-old daughter is misbehaving, and sneaking out of the house during night time hours. Juvenile returned home before arrival. Options were advised.
  • Dispute – Carwood Dr. – A house full of intoxicated individuals disputing over a cell phone screen that was on. The homeowner was advised of the eviction process.
  • Warrant attempt – in the area of S. Broad St. and Southside Mobile Home Park. Two subjects walking on foot in the area. Kathren Lager arrested for Walton County Sheriff’s Office warrant and Lamar Hughes arrested for possession of meth and a Walton County Sheriff’s Office warrant and an additional warrant out of Barrow County.
  • Dispute – Magnolia Trc. A couple got into an argument over living arrangements. Parties were separated and were advised of options to retrieve leftover property.
  • Theft – N. Broad St. at Da Grand – In reference to a cell phone. Canceled when the phone was located.
  • Loitering – N. Broad St., Golden Pantry. Lot cleared by clerks’ request, all ok.
  • Domestic Dispute – E. Marable St. in reference to John Patton and a subject being involved in a physical altercation. Patton was placed under arrest for family violence – simple assault. He was transported to the City of Monroe Police Department to be fingerprinted. He was then transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident.
  • EMS Assist – Perry St. in reference to a subject being found in the bathroom, unresponsive. CPR was administered until MFD and Walton EMS arrived. Criminal Investigation Division was notified. The subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS. Report taken.
  • Mental Person -W. Vine St. in reference to a subject on “Ice” yelling and acting erratic, threatening to harm others. The complainant stated that the made statements in reference to attempting suicide by cop. He was okay once officers made contact. He denied wanting to harm himself or others. The complainant was advised of remedies. No crime occurred.
  • Counterfeit – W. Spring St.- Dollar Tree in reference to a subject having a fake $100.00 bill. The cash was collected and submitted into evidence. Report taken.
  • Dispute / Civil Matter – Magnolia Terr. in reference to the subject wanting his phone charger from another subject. The situation was mediated. All okay.
