MPD Reports: Person shot, domestic disputes, large parties and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 14 – 21, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Mental Patient – Creek View Ct: Mother advised her daughter had her house key and she wanted it returned. The daughter advised via phone she would return the key. 
  • Suspicious Person – Wellington Dr. in reference to two parties disputing over property lines. Civil remedies were advised.
  • Dispute – Sorrells St.: In reference to a black male and female arguing. The male was placed under arrest for Battery Family Violence.
  • Dispute – E.t Fambrough St. in reference to two parties disputing over money. Both parties were intoxicated and agreed to stay separate.
  • Mental person – S. Broad. Female on location requested EMS for mental health, Turned over to EMS.
  • Domestic – Old Mill Pt; Complainant and Charles Wyatt were involved in a dispute over child custody. Charles was GOA. Warrants to be taken on Charles for a simple battery Family Violence Act.
  • Civil Issue – Creek View Ct. In reference to complainant wanting her keys back from her daughter. Civil remedies advised
  • Missing Person – Piedmont Walton. Staff on location stated both the mother and son were last seen traveling in the direction of Walmart. The area searched with negative contact.
  • Dispute – Sorrells St. Caller advised that her boyfriends’ sister was on location refusing to leave. The sister was upset with the caller because the boyfriend was arrested. She was GOA.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. Caller advised of a large party in the area, conducted an area check with no contact.
  • Fire assist – Wheel House Lane in reference to a grease fire. All residents out of the structure on arrival. Units assisted in crowd control. Turned Scene over to Fire
  • Disturbing the Peace – Tanglewood Dr – Reference to numerous parties in the area. Contact made with several residences and explained city ordinance violations, the party was dispersed.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. Caller advised that her sister had left with her kids and did not tell her where she was going. The sister had custody of the kids she was advised how to handle.
  • Disturbing the Peace – Nowell St – Anonymous complainant called in reference to several subjects in the area “flashing” guns and filming themselves. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle – W. Creek Cir. Several cars on location due to a party. They were advised to move the cars all ok.
  • Loud music – W. Creek Cir. In reference to a larger party. They were advised to turn it down all ok.
  • Dispute – Glen Iris – Complainant stated his estranged wife was burning his clothing, the complainant was not on location. Contact made with the wife at the residence, no evidence of any items being burned was located.
  • Harassment – E. Spring St – Complainant advised a blue Camry stopped near him and threw a drink on him before driving down S. Hammond Dr. He did not know the subjects but advised the passenger had red hair, conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Assault – Bold Springs. Caller advised that while at her boyfriends’ house he assaulted her. Did not fit Family Violence, and she did not want to press charges, report taken.
  • Residential Alarm – Kendell Court – Homeowner advised the alarm was sounding due to loud music causing her windows to rattle. Will patrol throughout the night.
  • Shots fired – Ash Ln. Party on location caller advised a male was shooting. Made contact with the party they advised no one was shooting they were advised to shut the party down.
  • Dispute – Glenn Iris Dr. Reference to two subjects disputing over clothing and cell phones. The dispute was mediated by officers. Parties involved mutually agreed to separate and seek civil mediation.
  • Firearms – Plaza Dr. – Reference to multiple gunshots in the area, one subject, was struck twice. He was transported to Athens medical center for treatment. CID, Command staff notified and responded.
  • Dispute – E. Marable St. – Hotspot in reference to an irate b/f wanting to purchase beer. The subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Stolen Property – Mill Stone Bluff, in reference to a stolen 4-wheeler and dirt bike, serial numbers entered on GCIC.
  • Hit and Run – Lacy St. – in reference to van side swipe by black Acura. Report was taken.
  • Meet with Officer – S. Broad St. in reference to a custody exchange between subject and her ex- daughter in law.
