A man charged with allegedly breaking down a door and assaulting a woman, was shot in the leg later that same day.
According to the incident reports from MPD, at 3:24 a.m., police were dispatched to Tall Oaks Lane in reference to an assault. Maximillian White had allegedly kicked in the front door and assaulted the victim. Officers arrived to find her lying on the couch, unconscious, but breathing, with injuries to her mouth. She was transported to the hospital and, following an investigation of the damage to the door as well as injuries to the victim, warrants were to be obtained for White for aggravated battery and criminal trespass family violence.
Officers were not able to locate White at that time, but were later called to a shots fired call in the area of Davis and Harris streets and arrived to find White with a gunshot would to his left leg. He was transported to Piedmont Walton and witnesses told officers a group of black males were fighting and before running off, they shot at the victim, hitting him in the leg. It is not known at this time if the two incidents are connected.
The City of Monroe Police Department reported the above and following incidents for the period Oct. 22 – 29, 2020. Due to the length, the report was split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Unknown Law – Lacy St. In reference to a subject who assaulted the complainant. Subjects on location advised they did not call and all is ok.
Dispute – Plaza Dr. Subject trying to break into the residence. Another subject resides at the residence as well, and was locked out after a disagreement. First subject was not on location when Police arrived.
Dispute – Tall Oaks Ln. In reference to a named subject on location who kicked in the front door. He did kick in the door of residence at Tall Oaks Lane and assault subject. He was gone when officers arrived. Warrants to be taken for aggravated battery.
Theft report – Magnolia Terr in reference to a bike taken overnight.
Entering auto – Ridge Rd. Several items taken from a blue Dodge Ram.
Civil Dispute – Sorrells St. Civil dispute between two parties over property retrieval. Situation mediated.
Person Shot – Harris St. Subject from previous incident (kicking down door) shot in the leg. Crime scene and CID responded.
Suspicious person – Page St. Ref to a light skin b/m with a white shirt and a possible gun. Area searched with negative contact.
Citizen flag down – South Broad St., MPD – Subject arrived to talk to Law Enforcement after hearing police were looking for him.
Accident – W. Spring St. Ford Ranger vs. Chevy Suburban. Driver of the Ranger transported to Piedmont Walton with injuries. Juvenile passenger of Suburban transported to CHOA for injuries. Subject cited for several violations. Report in GEARS.
Harassment – Highland Creek Drive – Complainant advised she is going through a divorce and her husband is trying to manipulate her. She requested information and to make a report.
Dispute – South Madison Ave. Issue between mother and daughter regarding punishment of daughter. All parties advised of remedies.
Civil Dispute – Roosevelt Street & Maple Street. In reference to the complainant unlocking a vehicle belonging to a subject. Insurance paid for the unlock, but there was a $50 cover charge. The subject stated he did not have the $50, and left the scene. Complainant requested a report.
Dispute – Highland Ter. – Two parties were involved in a verbal dispute. Remedies were given. All ok.
Dispute – Classic Tr; In reference to the complainant’s juvenile sneaking out of the house. Complainant was advised of remedies. Juvenile was on location when officers were present. Report taken
Agency assist – Green St. Walton County Sheriff’s Office working a MVA and requesting contact with a vehicle owner at this address. Contact was made with subject. All information was given to Deputy.
Civil Issue – Cloverdale Dr. Complainant wanted officer to see condition of property before belongings removed. Property appeared to be in good shape. Complainant was reminded of civil process.
Dispute – Pine Park St. Two sisters disputing over furniture and damage to property. Parties were separated. Report was made and the advice was given.
Dispute – Bridgeport Pl. Subject was chased by the neighbor’s dog. Report was made per complainant’s request. Subject advised that animal control is already aware of the situation.
Dispute – Perry St. in reference to the subject and her boyfriend/ father of her child disputing. He left with their 2-year-old child. She stated she would give him some time after we leave to come back with the child. No further report needed at this time.
Theft report – Barrett St. Complainant reports several items moved around a job site. House under construction with missing walls, doors, unable to be secured. Nothing taken.
Dispute – South Broad St., MPD. Complainant reported a dispute happened last date at Masters Drive. Report taken.
Fight – Wheel House Ln. In reference to a group of individuals possibly about to fight a 15-year-old female. Complainant was third party. Altercation took place according to subjects in the area. It was reported that a large group was attempting to fight, group was gone when officers arrived.
Suspicious person – South Broad St., Hardee’s. Ref to two subjects in the parking lot asking for money. Contact was made and they were sent on their way, all ok.
Agency/EMS assist – Jim Daws Rd., Minerva. Blocked driveways to business for life flight helo for a MVA that occurred in the county.
Theft report – West Fambrough St. Complainant advised his grandson’s go-kart was taken last date from his back yard. Report taken
Dispute – Wheel House Ln. Complainant advised of a vehicle on location with occupants wanting to dispute over an incident a few nights ago. Vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
Suspicious person – West Spring St., Harry’s Marathon. Ref to a b/m on location asking for money.
Dispute – Towler St. Two parties arguing in the parking lot. Parties separated, all ok.
Juvenile Runaway – Gliding Ln Complainant’s grandson, 14-year-old who ran from his grandmother. Juvenile was back on location upon officers’ arrival. Both parties were advised of remedies.
Harassing Call – Hwy 78. Truck Stop. Employee reported that an unknown phone number text her this date with pictures of the store she works at. The phone number returns to a “text app”. Report taken.
Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 at N Broad St. In reference to a gray truck. WCSO handled call, due to having a prior call this date involving the vehicle on Hwy 138 at Forrester Cemetery Rd.
