MPD Reports: Person shot; woman hit in the head with a frying pan; employee found deceased

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 15 – 22, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Child Custody – Roosevelt St. – Complainant reported her son was not returned from visitation. Contact was made with the subject and he was already in route to return the juvenile. 
  • Request to meet officer – S. Broad St., Hardee’s. A homeless subject looking for a place for the night. The subject was advised that F.I.S.H was full for the night, and was advised of options.
  • Theft Report – Vine St. Conestoga MHP. The complainant was advised of proper jurisdiction.
  • Harassment – Springer Lane in reference to meeting complainant about harassing text messages sent to his wife. Report Taken.
  • Dispute – Plaza at Arnold Point Apt. Two subjects were involved in a domestic dispute. One had an active warrant out of Walton County. He was gone when officers arrive. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – Wall St. Apartments – The complainant advised his vehicle was struck by a rock which someone on Pine Park Street threw. Report taken.
  • Warrant Attempt – Plaza Dr. The subject was located in a bedroom closet and arrested for Aggravated battery -Family Violence warrant out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office, all ok. Information added to call 11 report.
  • Dispute – Plaza Dr. – In reference to the female at this location being asked to leave by the parents of the arrested subject from the previous call. She left the residence voluntarily when her father picked her up.
  • Warrant – S. Broad St.: A female subject was arrested for Failure to Appear warrant.
  • Harassment – Towler St.- In reference to the complainant being harassed by the suspect in a burglary.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Madison Ave.: Woman said she was injured while sleeping at the Pocket park the other night. What she showed looked like insect bites. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Cook St.- In reference to a subject needing to go to Piedmont for a mental evaluation. Subject transported by mother.
  • EMS Assist – Walker Dr. – In reference to complainant seeing an employee laying on the floor of a home through a window. The employee was found deceased. Criminal Investigation Division responded. Turned over to CID.
  • Threats – S. Broad St. in reference to complainant getting threats made to him by another subject. Report Taken
  • Gunshot Wound / Shooting – W. Spring St. Piedmont Walton ER. in reference to Fernandez Smith with two gunshot wounds arriving Personally Owned Vehicle to the ER. Unable to determine the exact crime scene and Criminal Investigation Division notified. Report Taken
  • Foot chase / follow up – Landers St. in reference to a previous shooting call. Upon officers’ arrival, one male ran on foot into wood line. After perimeter established and an area check the subject was not located. Possible id was obtained and is being followed up on by Joint Operations. At this time, it is believed the subject that fled is not related to the shooting.
  • Dispute – Green St.; Two were involved in a dispute where one broke his TV. He was gone when officers arrived and the complainant requested assistance in going to a domestic violence shelter. All nearby shelters were full. She and her children were placed in alternative accommodation until alternative arrangements could be made the following day.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Vine St. Caller advised of a tan passenger car parked near the church possibly doing drugs. Made contact with the subject, who was arrested for possession of Meth.
  • Missing Person Located -He was located in Green Island Nebraska in good condition. Removed from GCIC.
  • Domestic Dispute – Nicholas Ct.: In reference to subject being struck in the head with a frying pan by another subject. She was arrested for Family Violence Battery and Cruelty to children 3rd degree. Project Renewal form was completed.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St. – In reference to subject sleeping in a storage unit. The subject was given information on F.I.S.H. and left the unit.
  • Enter Auto – Plaza Tr.: Maintenance guy left his vehicle unlocked with the window down. A named subject is seen on surveillance going in the truck, which allegedly resulted in $40 cash being taken. Warrant to be tenteringfor Enter Auto.
