MPD Reports: Person trespassed from business after locking themself in the bathroom; officers kept busy with keys locked inside vehicles

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 19 – 26, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• EMS Assist – Breedlove Dr & McDaniel St- In reference to a male subject passed out on the side of the roadway while he was directing traffic for his construction company. He was found lying down and alert. He was then turned over to EMS.
• Theft report- 140 Blaine Street – Civil matter involving friend not paying agreed amount of money. Advised complainant remedies.
• Dispute -New Lacy St; – In reference to Complainant reporting that subject had struck her with a stick after a verbal dispute ensued in the area of Magnolia Street and Davis Street. Due to lack of witnesses no police action was taken. Parties were separated and remedies advised to both.
• Speed Compliant – Hwy 78E / Cheek Road – Reference red ford pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. No contact made
• Burglary report – Green St. In reference to 3 windows being broken on a vacant residence
  possibly overnight, property manager requested extra patrols overnight report taken.
• Suspicious Person – W Spring Street @ Walmart- In reference to an individual in a white passenger car asking people in the Walmart parking lot for money. The individual was gone upon the officer’s arrival.
• Mobile Home Inspection – S Broad Street- In reference to civilian requested a mobile home
  inspection for her newly purchased home. Serial number was located on trailer hitch and the
  proper paperwork was completed.
• Fraud – West Spring St -Complainant called in reference to his debit card being used to purchase
  items without his consent. Report taken.
• Vehicle Unlock – Walker Dr- In reference to the complainant locking her keys in her Honda.
  Vehicle was unable to be unlocked. Remedies advised.
• Theft Report – West Spring St; Moe’s- Contact was made with the complainant who advised
  they were at the Moe’s in Loganville, LPD contacted. All okay.
• Juvenile Complaint – Green St.- In reference to a juvenile subject breaking a window, the area
  was checked without contact. Complainant from call number #5 who advised they would board
  the window up next date.
• Alarm – Hubbard St – In reference to a building alarm. Building patrolled on foot and all doors
  and windows appeared secure.
• Suspicious Person – Woody Dr- In reference to two unknown juveniles walking up to the
  complainant’s residence and then running off once the outdoor lights activated. Area checks of the neighborhood conducted.
• Vehicle Unlock – E Fambrough St – Vehicle Unlocked. No damage.
• Juvenile Complainant- Creekside Way- Call in reference to an 11-year-old juvenile not going to
  school. Contact was made with the complainant and juveniles. Remedies were advised, nothing
  further was requested.
• Other Law- 140 Blaine st; MPD – In reference to Complainant reporting an inappropriate video
  of her had been circulated through some of her friends. Advised that she had slept with a subject
  in January of this year and that he had filmed their time together without her consent. Stated she
  believed subject was sending this video to others due to his frustration that she would not sleep
  with him again. Report taken and forwarded to CID.
• Theft Report – Carver Pl- In reference to a kid’s bicycle being stolen overnight, report taken.
  Welfare Check – Lacy St – In reference to the complainant requesting a welfare check on subject,
  due to him stating that he was going to kill himself. Subject was not on location however I was
  able to speak with him via telephone, subject declined sharing his location and advised that he
  did not want to hurt himself.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – East Spring St – Traffic stop conducted due to a 2018 Kia Forte displaying
  an expired registration that hit on FLOCK. After a PC search due to the odor of Marijuana, the
  driver was arrested for misdemeanor possession of Marijuana and released on a copy of the citation after being fingerprinted at MPD. Vehicle retrieved by Taylors.
• Accident – Hwy 78 west exit ramp @ Charlotte Rowell Blvd- Two vehicle accident without injuries, GEARs report completed.
• Suspicious Person/ Traffic Offense – Downtown/ Wells Fargo ATM- While conducting traffic
  enforcement, Officer observed a named subject operating a motor vehicle. Officer had prior
  knowledge that the driver’s license was currently suspended. Contact was made with the subject,
  and she was taken into custody for driving while license suspended and taken to the Walton County Jail without incident.
• Suspicious Person- S Madison Ave; Walton CO Health Dept.; In reference to Complainant
  finding more alcohol bottles and miscellaneous trash scattered near the door of the building.
  Requested continuous extra patrols in an attempt to locate subjects responsible for the trash
  being strewn over night.
• Vehicle Lockout – W Spring Street @ CitiTrends- In reference to the complainant locking her
  keys in her Honda. Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Theft by Deception – Martin Luther King Jr Blvd- In reference to a named subject taking money
  from business while being employed there. The subject was arrested for Theft by Deception and taken to the Walton County Jail.
• Fraud – 140 Blaine St- Reference to fraudulent charges on the complainants debit card. Report
  taken.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – South Broad St @ Norris St; In reference to a bronze Ford with suspended
  registration. Driver was arrested for no driver’s license, suspended registration and also cited for
  no insurance. Vehicle turned over to Taylor’s. Driver released on copy of citations.
• Damage to property – 1490 Hwy 78; The Walton Truck Stop- In reference to a piece of concrete falling off the back of a dump truck and striking the complainant’s vehicle, report taken.
• Mechanical Breakdown – N Broad Street- Reference to a stalled out vehicle. Vehicle was pushed out of the way and a private tow company is enroute.
• Vehicle Lockout – Milledge Ave-In reference to the complainant locking himself out of his Buick. The complainant was able to unlock the vehicle before my arrival. No action taken.
• Welfare Check – N Broad Street- In reference to subject in the bathroom for an hour and a half. Subject was issued a criminal trespass warning from complainant.
• Vehicle Unlock – N. Broad St; Sussie’s Wings- Grey Toyota Camry, vehicle was unlocked without damage.
