MPD Reports: Police settle dispute over who pays taxi and who carries the medication

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 24 – 31, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Foot Chase – In the area of W. Fambrough and Power Lines. In reference to a subject with felony warrants. K9 track attempted. Subject still at large. 
  • Loitering – Dairy Queen E. Spring St. In reference to a subject on location. She was given a place to stay for the night.
  • Gunshots – in the area of Wellington and Heritage Park. Two shots heard by the caller who did not want to meet. Area checked and found to be ok.
  • Dispute – Old Mill. No dispute occurred mother advised she was yelling to communicate with boyfriend upstairs.
  • Civil Issue – S. Broad St. – In reference to complainant wanting a report due to burning his hand at the Valero at 203 East Spring Street.
  • Hit-and-Run – Highway 138 x W. Spring in reference to a vehicle striking a B&H Tow Truck in the rear. The other party left the scene, complainant just wanted to inform the police of the incident, so the driver did not try to falsely accuse him of being the at fault for insurance purposes. No report needed, no damages, the secondary party would have been at fault.
  • Welfare Check – Complainant thought that her autistic son was missing. However, she remembered he was at school. The complainant just had surgery and was on pain medication.
  • Damage to Property – Female diver struck a tree and left the scene. The driver was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
  • Area Check – Fambrough W. at Douglas St. reference to a female in the area crying, Contact was made with subject. She was complaining of pregnancy-related issues. All ok.
  • Unknown law – Hwy 78 E. @ Cedar Ridge, reference to a subject sitting on the bridge with a leg thrown over the side like they might be considering jumping into the river, made contact and subject was walking to work at Jersey Mikes from Youth Jersey Rd., all ok.
  • Theft – Towler St., reference to subjects entering the residence through the kitchen window, nothing appears to be missing but the tv was moved from the tv stand into the living room floor and a picture was moved from the corner to the middle of the floor in a spare room
  • Dispute – Colquitt St. Subject was causing a disturbance at the residence. The subject left the residence on foot before Officer arrival.
  • Missing person – in reference to mother reporting her 9-year-old son missing after he did not get off the bus from his mentoring program. Juvenile was located with mentoring staff and had accidentally missed the bus. Returned to mother unharmed.
  • Agency Assist – Towler St. Barrow County SO wanted an officer to see if a runaway juvenile was at the residence. Negative contact due to the complainant did not know the lot number.
  • Meet complainant – Felker Street in reference to complainant wanting to know options on how to get husband home from Athens hospital. Referred to proper resources.
  • Dispute – Felker St. Dispute between a mother and her daughter in reference to paying the taxi driver and who takes the medication inside. The taxi driver was paid and I took the medication inside and gave it to the owner.
  • Harassment – Hill St. in reference to complainant stating that the subject has been sending him threatening text messages. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Davis S.t in reference to complainant stating that subject filed a report with the police stating she has been stalking her. The complainant wanted documentation stating that she has not been doing so. A supplemental was added to case.
