MPD Reports: Problems with teens loitering at Harry’s Marathon

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 26 – Oct. 3, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Warrant attempt – W. Spring St., Harry’s Marathon. Janelle Lohnes arrested for Barrow County Sheriff’s Office warrant. Met and turned over to Barrow County SO at the Windstream building. 
  • Assault – S. Broad St. – MPD in reference to complainant stating a patient at S. Broad St. was being abused physically. Contact was made with caregivers and patient. The patient was found to be harming herself and was transported to Piedmont Walton for evaluation. The complainant was also warned to stay away from the business due to sleeping on their porch during the night hours.
  • Dispute – New Lacy St. In reference to mother disputing with her daughter. The situation was mediated Report taken.
  • Extra Patrol – E. Church St. – Vacant residence, request extra patrol overnight. Residence has multiple broken windows.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Tanglewood Dr. in reference to multiple juveniles sitting on the porch of the resident. She requested that the Officer have them leave. Juveniles left the location all ok.
  • Loitering – W. Spring St. at Harry’s Marathon – In reference to teenagers in pick-ups in the parking lot. They left when told to do so.
  • Dispute – 6th St. Caller stated they heard yelling from the residence. Officers made contact with the parties inside who advised they had their music up loud and everyone was ok.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St.- Family Dollar. The situation was resolved prior to officer arrival. Employees advised they no longer needed police.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Walmart in reference to motorcycles speeding in the parking lot. The officer observed the motorcycles parked and waited for them to leave. After twenty minutes the motorcycles were still on location. All ok.
  • Loitering – W. Spring St. at Harry’s Marathon – Pick-up trucks were advised to leave the parking lot.
  • Loitering – W. Spring St. at Harry’s Marathon – Subject was issued a warning for Loitering while he was parked on location for 15 minutes.
  • Agency Assist – Assist Georgia State Patrol with traffic stop. Possible Driving Under the Influence. The situation resolved by GSP. All ok
  • Extra Patrol – Woodland Rd. Caller stated she heard loud clanging and voices. Officers patrolled the area and had negative contact.
  • Juvenile Complainant – Store House Ct. In reference to juveniles turning the complainant’s water on and off. Report taken.
  • Burglary – E. Church St. in reference to subject having his vacant property forced into sometime during the week. Extra Patrol requested.
  • Entering Auto – W. 5th St. Complainant stated his truck was entered last night. Some flavor bottles and papers were taken.
  • Damage to Property – Mill Stone Bluff. In reference to complainant finding green paint thrown on her white Tahoe and on the side of her apartment. Report taken.
  • Follow Up – Pinecrest Dr. In reference to a citizen complaint of vehicles speeding in the area. He was advised that extra patrol will be conducted.
  • Harassment – S. Broad St. – MPD. In reference to a complainant, reporting that a subject threatened him over the phone. Report taken.
  • Fraud – S. Broad St. – MPD in reference to complainant having his information used at Home Depot to purchase items.
  • Follow up – W. Spring St., Walmart. Complainant advised she heard a child screaming but did not see any abuse. Complainant advised she was approximately 30 feet away and saw bruises covering the entire body of three kids to include cigarette burns. Wal-Mart manager on duty advised an associate was approached by the complainant about the incident but no Walmart employee witnessed anything, the subjects were gone on arrival, and that no video was available.
  • Follow up – Davis St. In reference to a citizen complaint of vehicles speeding and running the stop sign. Area checked ok.
