MPD Reports: Puppies found on side of Highway 78, Bicycling under the influence, parking spot dispute

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 1 – 8, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – Waffle House Unisia Dr. in reference to a white male that has been on location for an extended period of time. Subject was provided a room by F.I.S.H. All ok. 
  • Animal Complaint – In the area of Pilot Park. In reference to a dog being struck by a vehicle. Dog was conscious and alert but wounded. Animal turned over to animal control.
  • Animal Complaint – Mayfield Dr. – In reference to puppies on the side of the roadway near Walton Press. Three canines loose in the area. Animal Control was advised.
  • Intoxicated Person – N. Broad St. – J&B Food Mart. Officer witnessed William Williams wreck his bicycle in the parking lot and couldn’t get up. The subject was intoxicated (BAC .181) and later arrested. Walton County jail refused subject into jail and he was later released to family at Tanglewood Dr.
  • Theft of Services – Windsor Dr. – Monroe Utilities discovered a tap on an underground wire – A search warrant was executed when it was discovered that the residence turned out to be a marijuana grow house.
  • Theft – S. Broad St.: Complainant wanted to report her tag was missing off of her vehicle. She did not have the information at this time to complete the report. She will call back when she has all the information.
  • Runaway juvenile recovered – MAHS. Female was recovered for Walton County Sheriff’s Office that was reported from Crystal Brook Ct.
  • Theft – S. Broad St.: In reference to call above. Complainant was able to provide documentation. Report taken.
  • Civil – Tall Oaks W.: Complainant has allowed her ex-boyfriend to use her vehicle but he has not returned it. Advised of the civil process.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Knight St.: In reference to Complainant having question concerning her son having behavior issues. The process of filing unruly charges was explained to complainant.
  • Meet With – W. Spring St. – In reference to complainant having altercation with female at the post office over parking. Advised of options.
  • Fraud – S. Broad St. (Southside Park): In reference to complainant not receiving monies after providing gift cards numbers. Report Taken.
  • Warrant Service – S. Madison – In reference to Marcus Taylor with probation warrant from City of Monroe. Arrested and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Rape – in reference to complainant advising she was raped at an unknown house on Lacy Street.
  • Hit-and-Run – in reference to complainant advising her vehicle was struck on Highland Ave.
  • Damage to Vehicle – W. Highland Ave. – In reference to complainant stated she believes she hit a vehicle on Highland Ave. but did not know until she saw the damage to her vehicle. Information added to already reported hit and run.
  • Found property – Sunshine cleaners: Subject found a wallet with cash in it belonging to a individual. Returned wallet to her residence at Gatewood Way and turned over to her husband
  • Suspicious Person – Walmart. Officer was notified by an employee that subject was on location. Subject had recently been fired from Walmart and management wished he be given a criminal trespass warning. Contact was made with subject who was served with a trespass warning and asked to leave the property. Subject left without incident. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Complainant advised her son was being disruptive. Situation resolved.
