MPD Reports: Refusal to show receipt at Walmart; disorderly conduct, public intoxication and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 21 – 28, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Dispute – West Washington Street: In reference to a male and female yelling from this location. Contact was made with subject and girlfriend. Report made. 

Dispute – South Broad Street In reference to subject having a mental episode and scaring family members. Subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by Walton EMS. 

Child Custody – S Broad St the second party in a custody dispute not showing up to the meet location on time. Report taken. 

Mental Person – King St. Complainant on location having a mental health episode. A subject offered to pay for his hotel to get him to leave. Upon arrival at Monroe Motor Inn, he refused to stay in the room. He was sent on his way. 

Dispute – Wheel House Ln. Subject verbally disputing with her granddaughter about use of tablet. Remedies advised. 

Traffic Offense – Oak St & N Broad. Female subject stopped for broken tail lamp. While conducting investigation for DUI, two subjects arrived and were interfering with the investigation by shouting obscenities and continually approaching the vehicle after being repeatedly told to stop. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and released on copy. One of the subject who arrived was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and obstruction. The other was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, obstruction, and interference with government property. 

Suspicious Person – N Broad St. Subject on location harassing staff and customers. he was sent on his way. 

Property damage – Walton Road -In reference to someone shot paintballs at the complainant’s vehicle. Report taken. 

Citizen Assist – West Spring Street (Peachstate FCU): A subject attempted to retrieve money out of ATM, and the machine shut down keeping his debit card. He was advised to call the bank next date. 

Dispute – West Spring Street (Wal-Mart): in reference to a shopper was refusing to show the staff his receipt. He was criminal trespassed for 2 years from the store. 

Dispute – Gatewood Way In reference to a dispute Between two parties. Parties agreed to separate for the night. 

Suspicious Vehicle – MLK Jr Blvd in reference to trucks doing donuts in parking lot, several teens on location, there were advised to leave. 

Suspicious Vehicle -Hwy 78 & N Broad St in reference to a vehicle failing to maintain lane, vehicle located, and a traffic stop was conducted. All ok 

Dispute – Elm Dr. Subject in a verbal argument with her boyfriend. Situation mediated. 

Agency Assist – W Spring St assisted GSP with vehicle that was parked in the fire lane. The Driver was cited. 

Dispute – W Spring St. Verbal argument between drivers in the Harry’s parking lot. Situation mediated. 

Dispute – Birch St Apt A. Two subjects disputing. One was gone before officer’s arrival. Statements taken from the other and witnesses. 

Suspicious Person – S Broad St & W Fambrough. reference to two white males in the roadway. Subjects advised to stay out of the roadway. All ok 

Dispute – Plaza Dr Physical altercation between two parties. No charges due to not being able to determine primary aggressor. Report taken.
