MPD Reports: Report of gunshots turns out to be a blown transformer

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 24 – 31, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute an arrest.

  • Dispute – Davis St. Subjects arguing over property from deceased mother. Both parties advised of civil process. 
  • Found property – S. Broad St., MPD. Ref to a cell phone, attempted to return to owner by JointOps. All ok
  • Animal Attack – W. 5th St. – K9 from a neighbors’ house, turned over to animal control.
  • Suspicious vehicle – Claywill Circle – Large party with a large number of vehicles in the roadway. Patrons were advised to properly park their vehicles.
  • Suspicious Vehicles – Claywill Circle – Vehicles still in the roadway. Party was shut down.
  • Wanted Person – Perry St. & Launius Ave. – Officer was patrolling the area and observed a subject walking. Officer had knowledge she had an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed, and she was taken into custody.
  • Threats – Towler St. – complainant reported her ex-boyfriend threatening her and harassing her over the telephone. Complainant advised of civil remedies and pre-warrant process.
  • Discharging Firearms – Towler St. – Transformer blew. Monroe Utilities was advised.
  • Harassment – W. Spring St. – In reference to harassing Facebook posts left by subject. Report taken.
  • Missing Person – E. Spring St. in reference to subject walking away from the DFACS building on foot and her mother, complainant, not being able to contact her. The complainant requested that officers conduct area checks throughout the day until she makes contact. At 1305 Hours I was advised that the subject was at her apartment in Conyers.
  • Domestic Dispute – Green St.: Complainant wanted Monroe Police to stand by while she retrieves her children that were on location. She advised she had a verbal argument with her roommate. Report taken.
  • Found item – Breedlove Complainant found a bullet on the ground and did not know what they should do with it. They were advised to throw it away.
  • Meet with – Springdale Rd. The complainant was upset with how people are driving in the area. He was upset because he had almost been run over. He was advised to call should it continue.
  • Theft – MPD. The complainant lost her wallet last week. She was advised to cancel her cards.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Breedlove Dr. (Ridgeview Institute): Met with an individual who is an administrator. She stated she had a question in regard to a juvenile that’s in their care. All ok.
  • Dispute – N. Broad: Complainant stated that subjects were trying to fight him. He stated he ran from Green St. where the incident took place. Report Taken.
  • Verbal Dispute – Chestnut Ln Mother and the daughter was arguing over child custody issues. The Daughter was gone on arrival.
  • Fight – King St. Caller advised several males in the road fighting. Conducted an area check no contact.
  • Disturbance – W. Spring St. Subject released from ER with no ride was causing a scene in parking lot. Upon officers’ arrival contact was made and after speaking with the subject it was learned he has Medicaid and therefore the ER could call him a ride at no cost to ER or him. The subject also had a cell phone and would allow others to use the phone to call his family. ER advised to ask patient about his phone.
