MPD Reports: Reported body in dumpster turns out to be woman, asleep, hiding from WCSO

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 2 – 9, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Warrant Served – GW Carver Dr. In reference to a subject being on being on location with a Failure to Appear warrant. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Walton County Jail. Report taken. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle – on Highway 138 / HD Atha Rd. In reference to a black Hyundai speeding and failing to maintain lane. The vehicle was stopped for a moving violation. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Turned over to GSP.
  • Scam Report – Spruce Ln. Complainant advised that he believes a female on a dating website is attempting to scam him out of money. Report taken
  • Dispute – White Oaks Lane. The complainant and a female subject were involved in a domestic dispute. During the dispute, the complainant punched the complainant in the face. She was arrested and charged with Family Violence Simple battery.
  • Suspicious Persons – Plaza Trace in reference to two black males on location pulling on vehicle door handles. Multiples vehicles appeared to have been entered. All reports denied. Contact was made with two black male subjects in the area of Arnold Point. Report taken
  • Burglary – Sorrells St. Reference to a complainant having his back door damaged from someone attempting to kick it in.
  • Unknown – MLK Jr. Blvd., Checkers. Reference to a body found in the dumpster. Officers made contact with the subject alive and sleeping in the dumpster. She was hiding in the dumpster after an incident with WCSO earlier this date. She was turned over to EMS and WCSO. (She was locked up for battery Family Violence from punching her mother in the face the day before. It stemmed from a 10-16 on Stewart Road in the county.)
  • Child Molestation – N. Broad St., Sussie’s Wings. Complainant advised via phone that his 11- year-old nephew was sexually molested by subject in August behind Sussie’s Wings. CID was notified.
  • Fight – in the area of Harris and Davis St. Officers checked area due to report of a large crowd fighting. People on location but not fighting, area cleared out.
  • Fraud – E. Spring St., Valero. Reference to a subject reporting that her debit card information was  stolen from the gas pump by a skimmer and being charged $164. Gas pump was checked and no skimmer was located. Report declined.
  • Fraud – N. Madison Ave. The Market in reference to complainant receiving a possible fake check from a subject and that subject fleeing in a White 1997 Ford Explorer with a named subject. Complainant also had two other people cash bad checks earlier this week.
  • Theft report – E. Marable St. Complainant reports a small window broken but nothing taken, report made.
  • Dispute – West Spring Street., Captain D’s. In reference to a female customer on location disputing with employees. The female subject was gone when officers arrived. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – West Spring Street., Harry’s Marathon Gas Station. In reference to a silver Honda Accord tag being on location. During the course of the investigation multiple drug objects were located. The subject was arrested for drug objects.
