MPD Reports: Reports of suicide attempt and another of death turn out to be something different

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents between Jan. 23 – 30, 2020. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Theft – Hwy 78, Walton Truck Stop – Customer did not realize the clerk did not run his card after he got gas. Customer came back and paid.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 / Rowe Rd: In reference to a blue jeep failure to maintain lane. Contact was made on Michael Etchison Rd. The subject advised she was just tired and was late getting the child to school.
  • Damaged Property – Tanglewood Dr. in reference to complainant coming home to find her back window broken. Report made.
  • Dispute – Plaza Dr.: In reference to Complainant arguing with her brother. Situation was mediated.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Carwood Dr.: In reference to subject leaving the residence without permission. Contact was made with the juvenile at Carwood Dr. and transported back to the residence and turned over to her mother. Situation mediated.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Alcovy St.: In reference to the subject not returning home from Walnut High School.
  • Child Custody – W. Marable Street: In reference to the subject not returning the child. The child was located next door to this location and the child was safely returned to the complainant. Both parties were told the necessary steps to take to have the child legitimize. 
  • Child Custody – W. Marable St: In reference to complainants’ personal belongings being thrown out of subjects’ residence. Situation mediated.
  • Shoplifting – Wal-Mart. A black female wearing a white jacket left the store with a cart full of items. Suspect walked off location and was not located. WalMart advised they do not know what all was taken.
  • Suicide Attempt – S. Madison Ave. In reference to a subject cutting his wrists. He was removing skin tags with a knife.
  • Dispute – Victory Dr. In reference to the subject arguing with her father. Verbal argument only. The subject agreed to leave
  • Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. Complainant stated that a male was on location knocking on her door. She believed that it was related to the person who kicked out her window earlier this date. The male was gone on arrival.
  • Welfare check – E. Marable St. In reference to the caller stating her son was dead in a hotel in Monroe. Went to his address of record and spoke with a resident saying that she saw him earlier and he was fine.
  • Noise complaint – Monroe Mills. In reference to construction noise. Spoke with the foreman who stated he had approval from the city to begin work before 0700.
