MPD Reports: Response to suicide attempt in Florida by MPD and brother of victim

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following Community Alerts for the period April 11 – 17, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic – Cook Place in reference to a complainant being assaulted by her boyfriend, Herny Mocks III. Henry Mocks was gone when officers arrived. The complainant had visible marks from the assault. The victim was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS. Warrants to be taken on Henry Mocks III for Battery FV. Report taken
  • Mental Person – Creekview Ct. in reference to the subject wanting to go to jail. Subject claimed that she had hit her husband in the head so she could go to jail. Her husband stated that she did not hit him and was only making the statement to get officers to take her to jail. She later advised she never hit her husband and only wanted to go to jail so she could be sent off. Subject voluntarily went to the hospital for an evaluation. She was released to Piedmont Walton.
  • Shoplifting – West Spring St. – Walmart. Suspect arrested for shoplifting. He was served with a criminal trespass warning. He was fingerprinted and released on the copy of the citation.
  • Brush Fire – George Walton Academy: Tree fell on the power lines. Turned over to Monroe Fire Department.
  • Vehicle Accident / Hit and Run – Hwy 138 at W. Spring St. – 2 vehicles involved. A tractor trailer left the scene.
  • Burglary – E. Fambrough St.- Complainant advised three young white males entered the property this date between 1430 and 1530 hours and took multiple items. Criminal Investigation Division was notified. Report taken.
  • Domestic – Lawrence St. in reference to a dispute between Benjamin Edwards and complainant. Benjamin was arrested for simple assault.
  • Accident – Wheel house. Un-licensed 17-year-old was driving her mother’s car, when she lost control of the vehicle striking another parked vehicle. Report taken
  • Stalking – Ridge Rd. in reference to a subject being in around the apartment continuing to stalk his child’s mother. The subject fled at the sight of law enforcement and was not able to be located after a search of the area. Warrants are to be taken on Russell Hartley for Stalking, Harassing phone calls, Obstruction.
  • Follow Up – Ridge Rd Skyline Apts. in reference to attempting to locate stalking suspect due to him appearing in the area on back to back nights continuing to stalk his child’s mother.  After speaking with Department Children Services Felony Violation of Probation warrants are to be taken by DCS on the subject.  Surveillance was put in place with units staged in the area. Negative contact with the subject.
  • Loitering – Golden Pantry – Due to over 100 vehicles and 250 people packing the parking lot and store after Da Grand closed.  The store requested help to clear out the property.
  • Dispute – Fambrough Street – in reference to a dispute which began at Da Grand and carried over to Golden Pantry before ending at Hillcrest Apartments. Two subjects arrested for disorderly conduct and turned over to jail on citations.
  • Traffic Light – McDaniel / Woodland – Traffic light completely out, the city notified.  Power appears to also be out in the area.
  • Meet With – Old Mill Pt. in reference to resident wanting to speak with an officer regarding his sister in Florida trying to commit suicide. Venice Fla Police were notified, and units were in route to locate female. Upon further investigation it was learned that the female was in Winter Haven Fla. She was located by Officers and was taken to ER due to Overdose.
