MPD Reports: Several disputes, fights, parties and a load of catfish available

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 9 – 16, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Disturbing The Peace – Fawnfield Dr. – In reference, a block party on Fawnfield Dr. A party was seen but was contained inside of house. 
  • Firearms – Maple Ln. & N. Madison Ave. – In reference to a complaint reporting they heard 3 gunshots in the area. The area was checked and all appeared in good order.
  • Fight – Sorrells St. – In reference to a fight in the middle of the street. The area was checked by officers with negative contact. All ok.
  • Dispute – GW Carver. Complainant advised her boyfriend locked her out of her house. Complainant advised that she would standby for officers at Sussies Wings. Area checked, negative contact.
  • Dispute – New Lacy. In reference to two subjects verbally disputing over living arrangements/inviting subjects over. Both parties were advised of the civil process. All ok
  • Firearms – Lakeview Dr. In reference to a black male standing in front of his house shooting off a firearm. Contact was made with the subject, who advised there was nobody shooting at their house. The yard and street were checked for shell casings, but none were found.
  • Dispute – New Lacy St. In reference to two subjects verbally disputing over a EBT card and throwing away meat in the garbage. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute – Tall Oaks Lane- In reference to a woman reporting that a tow truck was parked near her house and she thinks it’s going to tow her car. She was advised that the owner who drives the tow truck lives at the house it was parked in front of.
  • Dispute – Landers St. In reference to a verbal dispute between two parties about a TV and TV cord. Both parties were advised of the civil process. All ok
  • Fight – Ridge Rd. Two people were involved in a physical dispute in the parking lot. Both parties issued citations for disorderly conduct and were separated.
  • Mental patient – Lacy St. Subject off her meds. All ok.
  • Request to Return – Ridge Road. Ref to two after they have been sent on their way with disorderly citations from previous fight call. Handled by phone.
  • Theft report – N. Madison Ave. The complainant reported a bicycle was stolen last date. The bicycle was recovered at N. Madison Ave. and a 16-year-old admitted to taking it. Juvenile complaint form filled out for theft by taking.
  • Juvenile complaint – Bridgeport Ln. Ref to a 15-year-old broke a window to the garage. The mother was advised of remedies.
  • Request area Check – S. Madison Ave., Coker Field. Ref to kites being flown near the airport. Kites were being flown well outside of the airport airspace, not near runways. All ok.
  • Damage to Property – Tanglewood Dr. Ref to a window being broken. Second party was gone on arrival before officers’ arrival. Upon officers’ arrival complainant was uncooperative and did not want to press charges and declined a report.
  • Dispute – Green St. Parties were separated. All ok
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. Complainant having a verbal argument with a subject. Subject was gone on arrival. Complainant advised everything OK.
  • Robbery – S. Broad St., Dollar General. Unknown b/m waited for till to open then ran behind the counter, pushed cashier out of the way and took cash out of till. Turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. (The suspect has since been arrested)
  • Citizen flag down – N. Midland Ave. The subject asked if we knew of anyone that wanted a load of catfish he caught. Advised of remedies.
  • Request area check – S. Broad St., Southside MHP. Ref to b/m matching armed robbery description seen entering the trailer.
  • Drug complaint – South Broad St., Southside MHP Ref to a white vehicle on location and heavy traffic, comp believes drugs were being sold out of the trailer. Negative contact with drugs.
