MPD Reports: Shoplifting, child bitten by family dog, disorderly conduct and more domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 5 – 12, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle – on Highway 138 in reference to the driver of a white Toyota Avalon making a hand jester at her. The complainant did not want to meet with Officer. An area check was conducted with negative contact. 
  • Suspicious Person – Atha Street – Negative contact with a black male carrying a duffle bag in the roadway.
  • Wanted Person – E. Marable St. – Caller stated a female with a warrant was on location. While en route dispatch ran the females name and advised she did not have a warrant. All ok.
  • Dispute – Victory Dr. – Two people involved in a physical dispute were cited for disorderly conduct. 1925830
  • Civil Dispute) at 118 Felker Street. Subject not wanting her daughter to move her vehicle in the driveway. Situation mediated. All ok.
  • Reckless Driving) on Sporty Lane / Baron Drive. Area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Dispute – Oak Ridge. A couple were involved in a dispute. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that no crime had been committed. Remedies were given.
  • Dispute – Towler St. – Woman reported some girls were looking to start trouble with her daughter. They were gone when officers arrived.
  • Suspicious Vehicle) 1490 Hwy 78 at the Truck Stop – In reference to a woman in a vehicle being on location for three hours. Her niece from the Waffle House believes her aunt is stalking her. Advised of the temporary protection order process. The aunt was asked to leave the area.
  • Juvenile Problem) 1038-A Wheel House Lane – 17-year old left without permission. Returned home while officers were looking for her.
  • Welfare Check) 1450 South Broad Street. Caller asked that Officers check on Destiny a subject due to her sending text messages that concerned the caller. She advised everything was ok. There were no signs that she was trying to harm herself.
  • Suspicious Vehicle) 150 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd: Reference handicap van behind the store. The subject was waiting on the computer repair store to open and then will be on his way. He was also advised of the loitering law. Suspicious Person) 2050 West Spring Street: Subject on location since 0300. Subject checked 10-4. He was advised of the loitering law and was asked to leave. All 10-4
  • Sexual Assault – MPD – In reference to sexual assault against a 12-year-old on W. Marable St.
  • Juvenile Complaint – S. Madison Ave. (Walton County Sheriff’s Offic): Complainant stated that her daughter was having problems with other classmates at Social Circle. The complainant was told she would have to go to Social Circle High School to file the complaint.
  • Theft – Valero E. Spring St. met with the complainant who had his vape stolen while at work. Does not want to press charges if the subject is located and item returned. All ok.
  • Runaway Juvenile – WCSO – in reference to a runaway juvenile. Report was taken and the juvenile was placed on GCIC by dispatch.
  • Shoplifting – N. Broad St.: Manager wanted female trespassed. Female was driving a vehicle whose and returns to a specific person. The person was ID’d by the manager. Unknown of what item she took. Attempted to make contact to issue trespass warning but the phone number on file was not working.
  • Dispute – W. Spring S. – In reference to tow people trying to get rent money from an employee at Captain Ds. Both subjects issued Criminal Trespass Warnings.
  • Animal Complaint – W. Spring St. (Walton Piedmont) In reference to complainants’ daughter was bitten by the family dog. The incident happened in Loganville. Dispatch was advised.
