MPD Reports: Shoplifting, disputes, mental health issues and custody issues following a death

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 12 – 18, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Theft Report – Edwards St. Complainant advised around 2300 hours last date a B/M came onto their carport and stole a blue and white Ozone BMX bicycle. Video footage available. 
  • Dispute – W. 5th St. in reference to a dispute between two parties. The situation was mediated.
  • Assist – Hill St. Complainant wanted to go to the hospital but did not have anyone to watch her kids.
  • Warrant Service – W. Spring St. – Harry’s Marathon in reference to Janelle Lohnes being on location with an MPD Warrant. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Walton County Jail without incident. Report taken.
  • Dispute – S. Madison Ave. at the Mill. Shawna Wilbanks advised an elderly white male had gotten onto her children for riding on the sidewalk. All ok.
  • Dispute – E. Spring St. – Dairy Queen. Complainant advised she did not get her change ($10.00) when she left Dairy Queen. The manager advised she would contact complainant around 2200 hours when the register is counted.
  • Dispute – Fawnfield Dr. Dispute over living arrangements. The eviction process was explained.
  • Theft report – Eten Dr. Kelly Reid advised that her dog was taken from her home and asked that a report be made of the incident.
  • Juvenile Problem – Barron Dr. – Complainant stated a 15-year-old juvenile from Sporty Lane threw Ricotta Cheese on her Honda Civic. She believes a friend did it. He did volunteer to wash the cheese off the vehicle.
  • Mental Patient – W. Spring St. Piedmont Walton ER in reference to subject looking into cars after being denied a mental evaluation. She was provided with a room at the Haven Inn by FISH.
  • Suspicious Person – Haven Inn W. Spring St. in reference to a subject on location causing an issue. She was involuntarily given medical evaluation due to self-harm and suicidal statements made in Law Enforcement Officer presence. ER released her due to being intoxicated. She was turned over to her family.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Tanglewood Dr. in reference to juveniles knocking on doors and running. Request extra patrols.
  • Loitering – Felker Park – Two occupied vehicles Told to leave due to the parks being closed at dusk.
  • Mental Patient – W. Spring St. in reference to a subject calling about her brother-in-law being shot. She was gone on arrival and the shooting occurred in Gwinnett County.
  • Suspicious Person – Davis / Harris – In reference to a black female laying on the side of the road. Contact was made with the subject. She was advised to go home.
  • Welfare Check – Plaza Trace. in reference to hearing somebody at the rear of the apartment. Everything was checked to be ok.
  • Damage to Property – W. Creek Cir. in reference to complainant reporting damage to her mailbox. Report taken.
  • DOA – Landers St. in reference to a woman being deceased. The scene was turned over to Criminal Investigation Division and the Coroner. Officer remained on scene due to meeting with DFACS about custody of the children in the home. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Subjects – at Felker Park in reference to juveniles smoking drugs and flashing a handgun. All Mental Patient – Birch St. in reference to subject not being on his meds. All ok.
  • Shoplifting – at Home Depot. Handled by Officer.
  • Follow-up – Etten Dr. in reference to a report taken last date. Property located. All ok
  • Found Property – S. Madison Ave. at the WCSO in reference to a purse found at the Monroe Walmart. – Subject found a purse left in a shopping cart in the parking lot. The purse was returned to its owner.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. at Walmart -Subject was caught on video skip scanning items at Walmart. The exact number of items is unknown. Forwarded to Criminal Investigation Division
  • Lost Property – W. Spring St. at Walmart – Complainant advised that she lost her wallet at either Felker Park, or McDonald’s. Report taken for documentation
  • Juvenile Issue – Tanglewood Dr. In reference to juveniles kicking the door. Juveniles gone on arrival. Extra patrol during nighttime hours requested.
  • Warrant Attempt – S. Madison Ave. in reference to Christopher Brown regarding felony shoplifting from Home Depot. Brown arrest and turned over to jail.
  • Theft – Magnolia Ter. in reference to a bike taken from the front porch. Met with complainant who requested theft report in regard to bike taken from her porch. No information for GCIC. Report taken.
  • Dispute – W. Marable. The complainant stated her husband who resides in Michigan, came to Georgia and took her two kids. Both children advised that they live in Michigan with their father. Civil issue.
